Xfinity Stream app
I am completely losing my patience with the Xfinity Stream app. All of my TVs are smart TVs and for a couple of years now we have been using the Xfinity stream app. I have been patient, hoping that they would improve their app. But it is utter trash. Now the latest update has made it so whenever I click on a regular HD channel in the hundreds, it automatically takes me to channels in the thousands. On top of that it is always having audio issues and video streaming issues. Why is it that when I watch a football game on prime which still runs on your Internet it is much more clearer than any of the stream broadcast that you have. This is absolutely unacceptable especially as I pay almost $350 a month for your services. What are you going to do to fix this

To turn that off, try setting:
to "All Available Formats" instead of "HD Preferred".

Our stream app had been working fine last night, I turned on it this morning and I can't watch anything, live tv or recordings. How long is it going to be down this time? Last fall it lasted only a few hours but it's way past a few hours now.

I just did a comparison of watching Prime on Xfinity versus watching Prime with Apple TV. It seems obvious that watching Apple TV, which is direct from the Internet is much clearer and actually higher resolution. It appears that Xfinity may be compressing the data considerably to degrade the picture so much. Considering how much I pay for Xfinity I do not consider this a proper situation. On the other hand it may be possible that Prime’s technology is just inferior and it’s not due to willfulness on Xfinity’s part, but it just inadequacy of the hardware to transmit video in full resolution.
