Xfinity app on Roku

The app opens and then takes me to main screen but then closes and goes back to Roku Home Screen. Deleted and reinstalled twice. Still same issue.

Was watching Xfinity Stream app and suddenly got bounced back to Roku home screen.. Now Xfinity app attempts to load, appears to be completed for a second, then quickly bounces back to Roku home screen. I have reset modem, removed app, reset system, added app back... no success.  Help!

I have two roku TVs. The Xfinity Stream has been working fine since I moved into my house 2 years ago. Tonight when I go to start the stream on either TV, the app starts normally goes to the main screen and almost immediately it shuts down and takes me back to the roku main screen. I have tried to reset the internet connection, reset the TV, reset my wifi, deleted the app and reinstalled it. Nothing seems to have worked. I have a cable box on an older TV, it works. It works on my mobile device. Roku points me to Xfinity and Xfinity tells me how to install the app, then points me to Roku. Many forums state basically cross you fingers and hope it corrects itself. I am looking for a bit more support

It loads and then kicks me out. There's no error code or anything. Just sends me right back to the Roku home screen. It's only been doing it about the last 2 hours.

Have used this for many years and my Roku updated this morning and now the app on my Roku isn’t working it’ll load then kick me out of it and close. I’ve deleted app and redownloaded it and signed back in and it still does it. Is anyone else having this issue since the update?

@Norvell1981 I am sorry to hear your Rokus are not working at this time. I want to make sure we are respecting your time and not repeat the steps you have taken previously. What troubleshooting steps have you taken? Is your Roku up to date? I would start by rebooting your modem. Ensure that Roku is linked to the same network as your Xfinity device. Once confirm can you reset your Roku account credentials and re-login.

I think I'll be getting Roku credit for this. Xfinity credit as well!  EVERYONE REMEMBER make sure get credit for all even short timing, and on both sides!

This evening I was watching Xfinity on the Xfinity Stream app on Roku, when all of the sudden the app crashed around 10:00 Pacific time. I tried to open the app again several times and it just keeps crashing while trying to load. I tried going in to the app options to restart the app, but the option to restart the app with no longer listed in the options menu. I have several Roku devices and attempted to open the app on all my Roku devices and the app continually crashes. I am noticing on this forum I am not the only one experiencing this issue. As a loyal customer for a decade I expect someone from Xfinity to reach out to me with an exclamation of what is going on with the app.

I have the same issue on all my TVs.  Have reinstalled, rebooted.  Also, rebooted modem and router.  App opens and crashes after about 5 seconds.

My Xfinity app stopped working on Roku. I restarted Roku and even reloaded the Xfinity app. Neither of these actions resolved the problem. Any ideas?

You are not alone. I tried all the standard troubleshooting which means this is a software issue.

I am having this exact same problem. It started last night, and I cannot tell you how many times I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, and unplug the Roku with it and plugged it back in. Has anybody found a solution to this problem?

To access your account, will you please send us a direct message with your full name and complete service address to “Xfinity Support”. To do so, click on the chat icon located at the top right of this forums page.

Here's the detailed steps to direct message us:

  • Click "Sign In" if necessary
  • Click the "Direct Message” icon (upper right corner of this page)
  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

I reinstalled app on Roku.  When it opens it immediately closes and goes back to Roku screen. Happens on all of my 4 Roku devices.  App opens fine on my phone   All worked fine yesterday.  I updated Roku also  still won’t launch

I’ve been connecting just fine to Xfinity and last night when I tap the app it just resets itself back to the Roku main screen and won’t open Xfinity.. please help

On my roku tv I try to open xfinity streaming and it goes right back to home screen.   Tubi tv works for a bit then closes and goes home screen.  Customer are paying way to much for this [Edited: "Language"] service!
