Stream on Firestick issues
I downloaded the Xfinity Stream App on my Firestick. When I choose a channel, it says “This video stream is not playable under the current device conditions. Please disconnect any external devices (including HDMI, screen mirroring, or casting devices) and try again.” The only thing that is plugged into my tv is the Firestick. Any help on how to fix this is greatly appreciated!

Why can't Xfinity allow their streaming app to be available on Sony TVs? I have to use an Amazon Fire Stick and download some random bootleg version from Kinte.net. The app has lines going through the graphics and it's buggy. The app is clearly labeled Xfinity though. Protect your brand! Otherwise saavy people will figure out workarounds that make your brand look bad. What's the big deal with getting it launched with Sony? You already did it with Samsung and LG? Then I can ditch my Fire Stick altogether.

Your answer makes no sense. I downloaded and installed the Xfinity streaming app on seven separate Firestick 4k units, following the directions of a Comcast support tech I had on the phone. This was over 2 years ago. They all worked fine until a few days ago, when I started getting the message that the app needed to be updated from the app store. After clicking on the app store, it says the app isn't available.
Four of the Firesticks continue to work with the Xfinity app, if I ignore the message to update. However, three of them will not work at all after the update message.
On those three, I deleted the app, and using Dowloader I downloaded the latest version of the Xfinity app for Firestick 4k, and installed it. After installation, when I click on the Xfinity stream icon, it lets me sign in with my User and Paasword. But that's as far as it goes. I never had to open the Xfinity app in a browser before. (Still don't on the four units that are still working.) After the new installations, after signing in, the app opens in a browser (either Chrome or Firefox), and then displays an error message stating the URL can't be resolved.
So... basically it's useless. Looking at what's happening on the Internet, it seems that millions of people are having the same issue.
I pay my (way overpriced) monthy Comcast subscription fee, and I expect to be able to stream Xfinity on any device I connect to the Internet.
When is this going to be fixed?

it isn't 'broken' it is an unauthorized device (fire stick).

So you are saying that Comcast has recently de-authorized Firesticks as an approved device??
This is the new update, that we are forced to install/upgrade to?

I have the same issue, Been using stream on the firestick for years. In fact it was a comcast support employee who told me about it. Worked fine until 2 days ago. Obviously there has been an APP change to disallow those using Firestick to Stream live TV.

I was told by comcast customer service that it was a contract negotiation. Firesticks were deauthorized while they are arguing over a contract between Comcast and Amazon. I was told to get a Roku device. Worst customer care ever.

Thanks for having this topic here. I have had the same issue, and was up late following Youtube videos to update the app (deleting and reinstalling etc.) and when it finally let me log in with the mouse toggle I got the channels up and then got the message it was not compatible yada yada. 😡 It was also suggested to me by Comcast support to just use the Firesticks I had.

Still no comment from xFinity on this question. Why? Too many DVR rentals at stake?

Good luck! I have been a subscriber to Xfinity/Comcast for 40 years. I have cable, internet, and phone. Because like many families we have at least 7 TVs. 3 use rented cable boxes, 1 uses a Roku, and 3 use Amazon Firesticks. I downloaded the Xfinity Streaming app a few years back on these TVs, and while they say "it's not supported" but they did work on my amazon fire stick and fire box. They didn't have the same GUI as the Roku, but I could watch live channels, recorded, on demand, everything.
Then on one more used it kept saying "update available" and it would go to Amazon app store and said "unavailable." So I ignored, for a while, then finally the app stopped streaming. So I uninstalled the app, and installed the latest version ver 6.2.2.002, and it worked, looked a lot slicker. But it won't play Xfinity programming. Keeps giving me an error something about device or device settings or connection. I have a support ticket into Xfinity Tier 2, and waiting for help. I Xfinity want's their customers to use their services, they need to make their streaming app work on all android devices including Amazon Fire stick. Why Roku and not Amazon fire stick. . someone getting paid?
