Movie filters

Hello,

I was using the TV Remote app to easily find movies on live TV before it was deprecated. I'm trying to use Stream to achieve something similar.

I go to Browser, then Movies, then usually filter by Free to me and High definition. Sometimes that shows a lot of movies, but definitely missing some. One night I know a movie was on AMC that was not in the list until I removed the High definition filter. Tonight (Feb 19 @ 9:55 PM) Free to me showed a single movie, Encanto, when I know say more were on (I was literally watching one on AMC). I put back High definition and more showed up. Basically the filters are often working inconsistently and not how they're supposed to.

Edit: This is on Android, latest updates. I haven't noticed the issue on Roku.

Thanks.

Thank you for reaching out to us @lightstorm22! Have you noticed if this just happens when applying filters on the “free to me” list or have you noticed if it happens on other lists?

@XfinityAldrik The only filters I have a use for are Free to me and High definition, so it's only one of those or both together that I have tried. Thanks.

We hear you on this, and we definitely understand how frustrating it can be when filters don’t work as expected—especially when you're trying to find a movie you know is available.

It sounds like the Free to Me and High Definition filters on the Stream app are sometimes filtering out movies that should be showing, which shouldn’t be happening. The fact that removing and re-adding filters changes the results suggests there might be an issue with how the content is being categorized.

A few things you might want to try:

  1. Clear app cache & data – Since you're on Android, clearing the app cache or reinstalling the app may help refresh the filters.
  2. Check if it's specific to AMC or other channels – If it's mainly happening with AMC or similar networks, it could be related to how those channels tag HD content.
  3. Test filtering in a different order – Try applying the filters in different sequences to see if that changes results (e.g., HD first, then Free to Me).

That said, we appreciate the detailed info, and we’ll pass this along so the team can take a closer look. If you continue noticing inconsistencies, keep us posted with examples—your feedback helps improve the experience!
