I have 3 ipads that have 10.3.3 ios. Spoke to comcast yesterday about issue. Very disappointed that the latest xfinify app will not support older ipads. I suggested the least they could do is that they have 2 apps . One that works for older devices and one that works for newer devices.

Someone said recently that we do not PAY for Xfinity Stream. That is a bonus or a gift to be able to use the App on an iPad. A bonus or gift from Comcast?
I respectfully disagree with this statement. May I explain why the App IS a paid service:
I pay a great deal of money for Comcast, period. I think we can all agree, it's exorbitant---at least my bill is. Television is a luxury item that we can all live without if necessary. Internet, especially in these times, can be argued as a necessity. We PAY for television. We PAY for bundles as well---the App is part of a service for which we PAY.
I, personally, want my television separate from my internet connection. I have an ancient DVR. That's my choice. However, several years ago, the "On Demand" service was yanked. BUT, I found the service is available on the Xfinity Stream App. Therefore, On Demand is a service I PAY FOR that is only available on the App.
Lastly, my old DVR. Like I said, this is on me. It isn't really up to par with the latest technology, but neither is my iPad, and both function. I CAN ask for another DVR of the same model, but I would lose the shows I've recorded (and sometimes actually play). It might not work any better by design. I've already been told separate television and internet will not be upgraded in technology. Leading to only one thing:
Comcast wants everyone on the internet for television with this App. If I want features, like on Demand, download capability to a mobile device, and a very generous recording space allotment, I have to use the App.
No, my friend, this is a paid service. It was designed to draw people, like me, who want to stay with separate television and internet. And, the funny part is they almost had me! Recently, I was visiting out of state. I could just take my iPad with me and watch television. It was great. I need to go back this week---now I have to schlep a laptop and a brick.
No, Comcast, you blew it for many, many unprepared people by removal of a PAID-FOR service. They were unprepared for a depended upon service that was removed.
So, what service do I have left to me: No on-demand, the recordings I have on the App don't play on my iPad as they were designed to do. My old DVR sometimes works.
Customer Service has gone downhill. I think I posted my experience a couple days ago. I called to simply request an RG6Q cable to be sent to me---I have a plain RG59. That's how old my equipment is! Keeping the DVR is on me, but the cable was outdated years ago and should have been replaced. Bottom line: I couldn't even get a new cable sent to me to try to improve the television signal. In COVID times, they wanted me to go 40 miles to get the cable and go into a building with people. That is exactly what the CDC said for seniors not to do. I haven't asked for anything in ten years. I guess they want me online, or not at all.
Comcast: You destroyed your App. Please respond here on the forum what you can do about it. The silence from a representative on this board is a huge message to customers.

Hello, @Ddff12 - To enjoy your favorite TV and movies, go to your device settings and update your iOS version to at least 12.0, (or update your Android version to at least 5.0). Then download the latest version of the app in the App Store (or the Google Play Store or the Amazon Appstore) accordingly.
Thank you @Rustyben

My understanding is as long as you have a device on your network that has IOS 12 or above, the older devices should be able to piggyback off of that. Older devices were working fine before the most recent update. The app is still communicating with them. When you open the app it shows all of the currently airing programs and the recordings shown are all updated. You just get the error when you try to play. This can be fixed.

That official comcast reply doesn't solve the problem. We're basically being told that we our xxxout of luck.
