xFi site "going away"?
I see this when I login to the xFi website:
"The xFi website will be going away on 06/07/22. You can still enjoy the same great features by downloading the free Xfinity xFi app to manage your WiFi and devices. Get it now on the App Store or Google Play."
That's a terrible idea! Why would you do that?

I just got email that the website goes away. I use the site for TV streaming on my laptop and will not need xfinity if they kill the website. I will have to go to AT&T. I am a senior citizen who have a lot of problems using that tiny mobile. I prefer viewing a large screen TV monitor so killing the website will not work for me at all

I run 3 large monitors so I could have a lot of desktop real estate and see what I’m doing. Now these kids tell me I’m going to have to use my little phone because they aren’t capable of writing anything other than simple apps? That’s not going to work. Who Okayed this non-sense?

This doesn't make any sense. I don't own a Smartphone, and carry a flip phone that is paid for by my employer. I can't download the App. I've tried a Smartphone once and hated it. I sent it back in 2 days. I'm in my 60's and have cataracts. I need my large computer monitor in order to see what I'm doing. My niece and nephew use the WIFI when visiting. I change the password periodically and manage my account from the web. Comcast keeps reducing the service to their customers, raising fees, and making things even harder for seniors. I have a cable TV package, digital voice landline service, and Internet, and have generally been satisfied with the services. My main cable box that used to be part of the service now has a separate rental fee. My 2 free digital adapters I got when the service stopped supporting analog TV, now carry a rental fee per month that increases on an annual basis. The text service that used to be included with Digital Voice was discontinued. My Norton Internet Security that used to be included in the service, has been dropped by Comcast, and I now have to pay an annual fee equivalent to one month of cable TV service to keep that active. Shutting down the xFi site is completely unacceptable. What am I supposed to do after 06/07/22? When I need to make a change to my gateway, or change the password can a rep do it for me? After this site is shut down, I will no longer have access to my own account.

I also think that getting rid of the xfi website is a horrible idea. I always enjoy watching TV on my large desktop computer. It's a shame.

I am so surprised, and appalled that a company, who prides itself on customer approval,
pulls the rug out from under loyal customers by assuming that everyone in the world has a smart phone.
...well, I don't have a smart phone, and have NO intent on getting one . My simple flip phone does everything
I need it to, ( and even makes phone calls ). It works very well,, just like your web site does.
Knowing the only means of getting to my xFi account is going to be removed, a good part of the reason I
have been a loyal customer will also. This puts Xfinity back into the " average wifi provider" category,, and
makes the sometimes better deals form there competition more appealing.
BAD business move on your part. I see no advantage to your customers,, and predict a sudden drop in popularity.
NOT a happy customer.

It's good to have options. Comcast/Xfinity should reconsider eliminating the website in favor of access only through a mobile app.

Is this the same website as customers.xfinity.com or www.xfinity.com/stream? There is no notice on that website about shutting down in June? I never even seen internet.xfinity.com until today. If it is the same and they are shutting that down as well then that is really going to be bad. That is the only way I really have to access xFinity services since I don't see very well and I have trouble getting around on my smartphone. I loved the ease of the website. So could someone from Xfinity answer, if the former is the same as the one being shut down?

No. The "xFi website" or "xFi portal" is https://internet.xfinity.com/ and is used to monitor and control rental Comcast combination modem/router gateway devices. See https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/xfi-app-and-portal.

Because they like to take every opportunity to [Edit: Inflammatory] their customers, and charge more for every action they take to make their customers' lives even more [Edit: Language] than they already are.

Agreed! Comcast can say all they want that the app is the "best all-in-one resource for managing your WiFi," and that we'll "enjoy the same great features," but the fact remains TYPING ON A COMPUTER IS EASIER AND FASTER THAN TYPING ON A PHONE.
Please, please, please reconsider this. If we're stuck communicating with Comcast via a smartphone app, I may have to look for another provider who's actually committed to a positive user experience.

@user_53383a asked "... Will this website with the email: https://my.xfinity.com/ Still be up ..."
@jtrvhayes asked "... the option to log in to modem/router gateway ..."
Comcast has not said that these will be shut down, so AFAIK they should still work. As stated above, what they are shutting down (unwisely IMHO) is the "xFi website" or "xFi portal" at https://internet.xfinity.com/ which is used to monitor and control rental Comcast combination modem/router gateway devices.

Would someone like to tell me what the [Edit: Inflammatory] I'm supposed to do with my desktop? And I don't have a smart phone!
I guess I'm going to have to find a new service. And throw out my printer that's connected to it. Sure as [Edit: Inflammatory] not going to try to download and print files on ANY kind of phone.
APP THIS!
