Xfinity TV Box Daily Update

When the box does it's daily update there are several LOUD static/white noise sounds. It's like the volume is turned up all the way. Quite annoying. Is there any way to stop these loud sounds or are they just part of the update.

Hi there @ocala! Thank you for reaching out to us here on Forums. Your box shouldn't be making the noises you are describing when it is undergoing our daily updates (usually between 2-4 am). Is your TV off during these times?

I have been having the same issue since I got a new tv. It didn’t do it with my old tv so I’m guessing it has something to do with the settings on the new tv. To answer the question from the reply, yes it only happens when the tv is on when you’re just watching cable. But if the tv is off it obviously doesn’t make the static noise and also it doesn’t when you are watching Netflix or another streaming app. Strange.

Thank you for your response, @Jnlmhny. What is the make and model of the TV you experience this on?

I am sick and tired of my tv updating when I am watching it even when I cancel or change update times. It will be for that reason I will be going to satellite tv.

HI, @user_d4de81. Thanks for reaching out about your issue. What you are describing is  a technical issue and it can be resolved with some troubleshooting. Updates will only come through at the time assigned when working correctly. I also recommend making your own post in our customer service area next time with as much details as possible and we will reach out to help you. Posting on a thread that may not be related to your issue can cause delays. Let me know if you would like to continue, thanks!
