Xfinity dvr and samsung tv picture shrinking

Just read through the previous string on people having problems with the Xfinity picture shrinking into the upper left corner of their Samsung TV after it has been turned off for some time (i.e. overnight). I have been having this same issue for a few months now with my new Samsung TV. According to the previous complaints- none of the suggestions (restarting, refreshing, swapping out cables) corrected the issue and it also is happening to new and old Samsung models. What is the solution? The case was closed and it doesn't appear to have a solution posted. I'm dealing with this issue several times a week. I can watch my streaming platforms and cast just fine...seems like an Xfinity issue not getting resolved.

Hey @user_9b7984

Thank you for visiting our Xfinity Community Forums support page. We would be more than happy to assist with the issues you are experiencing with the picture quality on the television. Are you currently using a set-top box with the television or using an application? We hope to hear from you soon.

With using a set-top box, could you please exchange the current HDMI cord with a new HDMI cord? Once a new cord is plugged in, we would need to check that the set-top box is outputting the correct resolution for your television. Please set the set-top box to the highest supported resolution your television supports by visiting our "Adjust Your Video Display Using the X1 On-Screen Guide" support page for instructions on video output resolutions.

@XfinityDemitrius Before I spend money on a new HDMI cable- it seems from the prior conversations that replacing the cable didn't permanently fix the issues for others. May I ask if something has changed recently to suggest this solution?

You definitely don't need to go out and purchase a new cable if you don't already have one. You can also pick up one free of charge at a service center.
