I totally get where you’re coming from! I actually leave jazz music on for my dogs when I’m out, and they definitely love it—it helps keep them relaxed and distracted from outside noises. So I can imagine how frustrating it must be when the screen saver kicks in and interrupts the music.

Even with Power Saver turned off, the X1 boxes have an Automatic Inactivity Timeout that happens after 4 hours of no remote activity—and unfortunately, this can’t be fully disabled. That’s why it keeps switching to the screen saver.

A little workaround is to press any button on the remote every few hours to reset the inactivity timer, but I know that’s not always practical. Another option could be using a smart speaker or Xfinity Stream on a smart TV to keep the music going without interruptions.

I wish I had a perfect fix for this, but I’m happy to explore any other options with you! Let me know what works best, and we’ll figure it out together. 😊

@XfinityAirelle WHY cant it be disabled?... is it a government mandate?

you guys need to start explaining the "WHY" something this simple cannot be disabled by the user.

This is completely ridiculous. Why have an option to turn the power saver mode off then ? My mother has had a few strokes and it isn't always possible for her to hit the remote buttons, so if no one is at the house with her she must be stuck looking at a screen saver.

This needs to be fixed and immediately.

Hi there, user_7vjqbc. Thank you for reaching out about your concerns with the screen saver coming up. I am sorry to hear about your mom and understand she needs uninterrupted viewing. We have the Xfinity Web Remote. You can control the TV box from your end or it also supports eye tracking software and sip and puff (SnP) devices.
