X1 not working in a specific room

I have an X1 4K DVR and 3 remote TV boxes. One of the remote boxes stopped being able to receive a signal. I have called in and they have replaced the box twice. All boxes are hardwired to coax cable. The one that stopped working boots up and after the Welcome screen, it says to check the cables to make sure they are tight, etc. Of course all the cables are tight. I suspect something may have happened to the cable going to that box. I would like to switch to a wireless box rather than having to rewire that location.

However, I am using my own router and the cable modem is in Bridge Mode.

Will I be able to use a wireless box such as the Xi6 in that location with my own router?

If not, any other suggestions?

Thanks.

Nope, you’ll need a wired connection to a box or use a third party device (ie Roku) and use the Xfinity Stream app. Try taking your cables off the splitter/wall plate and put them back on. Also try resetting your main box

You’re better off rewiring.

Can only use the wireless box if you get the xFi modem which you have rent at $14+/mo for now until they increase it yet again (can’t buy your own xFi modem).

Unless it’s extremely difficult, just run the wire.

Tried everything. Too hard to rewire. I tried using the Xfinity Stream App beta on my Samsung TV. Works fairly well. Not as good as the box. I'll send the box back until some day that I rewire that outlet.

Hi @sbudaj! Thanks for posting to the Xfinity Forum! @CCAndrew is right. If you do want to return your box, you can return it at any open Xfinity Store. Here, you can find instructions for how to make an appointment to drop your equipment at stores. We also have free UPS at-home pickup available. Check out our Digital Return Center, then select the device you want to send back.

You can also pack the box and hand it off to your local UPS driver or take them to a UPS store, and they'll pack your return for you. If you do go this route, please be sure to visit theupsstore.com for the most up-to-date UPS locations and store hours. I hope this helps! 🙂
