Which headphones will pair with an X1 box and a sound bar?

Hello,

My husband is hard of hearing and with the old X1 box we were able to plug his headphones into the audio output jacks on the back of the box, while the TV was plugged into a soundbar. I listened to the soundbar and he could turn the sound up on the headphones. (He had his own volume control and I had mine.)

With the new X1 box (which we need to run apps like Paramount+) there are no audio jacks on the back. Can anyone recommend a headset/system that we can run both a soundbar and headphones on the X1 system?

Thanks,

Gale

Hello and thank you for posting with this concern, there's currently no way for you to connect headphones to the cable box but you can try connecting them to the TV that you have. I know some TV's have audio outputs that will work or you can see if the TV has a Bluetooth feature that will allow you to connect wirelessly.

You also have the option to use a cell phone, tablet, or any other portable device that you can watch Xfinity stream app on and that way you can connect his earphones to the device and watch the same channels that he could see on TV without an issue.

@XfinityAmir  - Okay, thanks. Since the TV is hooked up to a soundbar, I think we are at a dead end.

After further review, you can connect headphones via Bluetooth! Just press the Xfinity button on your remote >> go to the settings gear >> go to Device Settings >> Audio >> Bluetooth devices.

This should start the pairing process.I am not sure this will work simutaniously wiuth the sound bar, but can you give it a try and let us know if it worked?

Does the sound bar detect the TV box? What model 1X box do you have and what model soundbar? Have you checked to ensure the soundbar's firmware is up-to-date?

I no longer work for Comcast.

The soundbar is hardwired to the TV
