TV power doesn’t work with Visio soundbar

I received a new remote and when I program it to work with my Visio soundbar the remote no longer operates the tv. Pushing the power button turns off the soundbar instead of the tv

I sounds like you just replaced the television with the soundbar. The soundbar should have been a second device. The "All on" button would turn on both. If the soundbar was connected to the television, the tv's menu under audio would allow choosing soundbar or TV speakers. They would come on automatically when tv turned on.

But, the soundbar controls the volume so the XFINITY remote needs to operate both.
fyi, I have not changed tv/sound bar configuration. It worked fine with the old remote, but not the new one.

You can get remotes "free" at the nearest Comcast Service center. You could have kept the old one. Just ask for the one you need and keep the current one.

This occurred while pairing a new free remote from comcast. I did keep the old one. Once I paired the new one, the old one didn’t work. When I then paired the old one, the same issues occurred… the old remote, newly paired also cannot torn off the tv
