TV freezing randomly

North of Boston, MA.  Yesterday (3/4) and today (3/5) the television has been randomly freezing - usually just a few seconds to maybe 10 seconds, but a handful of times it has been over a minute.  Picture frozen (or occasionally black), no sound.

Meanwhile internet is fine.

I have 3 TVs, an X1 and 2 (small) satellite boxes.  Freezes affecting all TVs and multiple channels. Cables are fine - at least in the house.  I have refreshed and cycled power on all the boxes:  no joy - freezes continue.

This happened for a couple of days last month too - stopped as suddenly as it started.

All I can tell you is I was experiencing the same thing last night. It was happening on the wireless cable box but it didn’t seem to be happening on the Xfinity app.

We have it in Western Pennsylvania too. Our family room TV froze twice yesterday and once so far today. Our email is slow to download to our iOS devices.  Our neighbors have no sound on their TVs. There is maintenance in our area on Monday and a tech visit is scheduled. I don’t think the tech visit will help through.

Hello @gneuner2 and thank you for reaching out on our Xfinity Community forums!  ❤️

It sounds like you have been having a frustrating experience.  Have you gotten any error codes?

Also, have you considered troubleshooting your concerns using the Xfinity App?

There may be more going on here than a 'box' issue, and sometimes running the interactive troubleshooting routines through the App can help to fix certain issues.

Once in the app you would go to the Services tab, select Troubleshoot TV Issues, and follow the steps to troubleshoot your picture issues.

The app can check for localized service interuptions and issues on our end that may be affecting your services and will give you personalized and guided support.

If that doesn't work to resolve the issues, we can definitely assist you further.

Please let us know if you require additional support or have additional questions!

Picture and sound froze for a few seconds: I have a non-smart TV (very old) and this occurred for approximately 4 hours last week. All connections are secure and I have the most up-to-date cable box. I "rebooted" the TV when it first started, but it didn't help. Then after 4 hours it stopped. This has occurred occasionally, but never more than a few minutes. Is this typical? Is it because my TV is old? Any opinion/suggestions?

Thanks
