Streaming modem/remote

I'm having a problem connecting my TV I believe the streaming model is connected properly but the remote will not come on and I have changed the battery. I would like some assistance with this issue.

user_c95tit Hey there. Is the remote part of your TV or an Xfinity remote?

Yes the remote is a remote that came with the streaming modem.  It had batteries and I also tried changing them to my batteries.  I think it is more of a remote problem then a modem problem but I am not sure.

It's a Xumo model #GPKAOD3 and it does light up.
