Sound issues with new cable/DVR box

I just installed a new cable/DVR box and while overall it is working fine I now have several TV channels that have no, or only partial (background) sound.

Thank you for your post @user_9ce8d3 Personally if I had several TV Channels that had no sound or only background sound I would be reaching out too.

By any chance did you see if your SAP setting was turned on? Here is how you can check.
On your Xfinity remote while watching TV press the down arrow. In the bottom corner you will see CC and SAP. Do you see a check mark next to the SAP?

I am unsure if my SAP is on or off.  I followed your recommendation and I do see a circle at the bottom left with SAP.  I do not see any check mark.  I scrolled over to the SSP circle and it then displayed a message below the circle ‘audio options’.  I tried clicking on it via the center button on my remote and a new page appeared stating ‘sorry, no additional options available’.  Does this indicate my SAP is off?

Yes that is indicating that SAP is off. When there is a check mark next to it that means it is on. Just for future reference you can even press and hold the MIC button and say SAP on or off. SAP is a secondary audio option such as listening to things in Spanish. If there is no secondary audio then there will be no sound, but from what you just mentioned it was already off, so that means something else could be causing the sound issue.

Have you tried to reset your cable box such as removing the power cord from the wall outlet and plugged it back in?

The sound issue seems to be inconsistent.  Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.  Thanks for your feedback.
