SOUND CUTTING OUT
The sound is cutting out on basically every channel, we only have one tv and one cable box directly next to our wifi modem. When the tech came and tested all our equipment he said everything is ok but it is still happening, it makes you not even want to watch tv sometimes because you can never catch what is really going on, without sound cutting completely out. Sometimes screen freezes with it but not always. Please help

I came on to here to see if there was a solution. Clearly there is not. I checked the troubleshooting page mentioned earlier. I have no idea how to do what is suggested there. https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/troubleshooting-audio-issues-with-xfinity-tv. I don't know how to access the tv box - there is no separate remote.
I think this is something Xfinity has decided is acceptable for its customers. I have the issue watching several channels. I just updated the modem router per their suggestion. I still have the problem.
Clearly so many have this issue. It is known to Xfinity. They should be doing the troubleshooting, not asking us to buy equipment and replace everything - just to find out the problem exists on their end.

Same issue here, across many channels, both during programming and during commercials. Dropouts last from 5-10 seconds. Today, on CNN, it seems to be happening every several minutes or so.

Also wondering what the fix is for this. We upgraded our sound system a couple of months ago and every channel works perfectly EXCEPT the Music Choice ones. They worked fine with the old 5.1 sound system, but now they cut out every 30 seconds or so for between a fraction of a second and a few seconds. I’m guessing that either Music Choice’s Dolby Digital output has flaws in its formatting, or the signal is broadcast over a frequency with insufficient bandwidth for Dolby Digital. It makes them unusable. Not critical, since there are many ways to play music, but we liked some of those old channels.

Surprise, I have this problem too. ESPN - and only ESPN - sound drops out for several seconds, every minute or two. It's not consistent either, when I play the same recording on my laptop, it happens, but less often than on the TV box DVR. This has happened at least since Saturday; it is now Tuesday. I've already reset the box and done all that, so you can skip the post where you ask me all those useless questions. I'll just say that I'm in San Francisco, so hopefully you can secretly fix whatever the real problem is.

I've had the same problem with ESPN the last couple of weeks, sound drops out for several seconds and then returns. I've had it on both live broadcast and DVR of ESPN. Haven't had the problem with any other channel.

Verizon said residential Comcast service is shared with other residences, unlike FIOS, providing poor performance AT TIMES, depending on total demand of everyone involved.
There is no fix: it was designed that way. Certain older cell phones tell you when this happens, like my old LG. Comcast amusingly said something was wrong with my phone for saying this, when in fact my phone tells the truth newer cell phones are made to hide.

Happens a lot to me on MSNBC. It is happening right now on TRU while watching the pregame for the US Men’s National Team vs. Columbia. Come on, Xfinity. You know you have a problem here. Fix it or provide a worthy explanation.
and you ditched Bally Sports. Come on, dudes and dudettes.

Having similar issues with various channels, CNN mostly; only Xfinity. Sound cuts out Intermittently, always must inopportune time. Do not have issue thru streaming services using Amazon Fire TV Stick.
