Some new PBS Shows don't record on X1 DVR

I know that some PBS shows, like This Old House, Ask This Old House, America's Test Kitchen, and Cook's Country air some new seasons.  But the shows don't record on my DVR.  Several years now.  I look for the shows manually in the guide, and they don't ever seem to have be coded as "New" yet I know that entire seasons have gone by.   I can't record as New and Repeat option because so many old episodes are repeated it will fill my DVR.  And I wouldn't be able to tell the new ones from the old ones without getting on PBS online and looking at the content.  

Why are these shows not recording new episodes?  Is there a problem between PBS or the local Houston PBS affiliate?  Is PBS not labeling the season and episode number? Is it a Comcast issue?
