Smart Resume DVR

What happened to the smart resume feature? It's turned on in my setup but none of my recordings have the feature any longer.  The recordings are on major networks, HD, and at least 24 hours time has passed since the recording.

I have found lots of issues with the Smart Resume not working or intermittently working and for that reason i have stopped relaying on it for recorded shows.  While the idea is great and I love it when it worked but have been finding that it does not work more than it does.  The issues with it have been going on for a long time in my area.  I would love for it to work but I am not holding my breath for any kind of fix, I hate to say...

I'm not sure just how it's done. I'm not sure if someone has to actually watch and tag commercial breaks, or if there is some code or something it can process. And even with automatic codes, just how are those codes put in the programming?

 

It has been working properly the past few days, but was flaky Thanksgiving week. I'm guessing there is some human intervention at some level (Comcast or broadcaster), and some things ended up being missed during the week due to vacations or similar.

Hello All! Thanks for using the Xfinity Forum to share your experience regarding the Smart Resume feature. Smart Resume isn't available for all programs and networks. Right now, Smart Resume is only available for top shows on NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, CW, Bravo, HGTV, Discovery, MTV, and TLC. It can only be used on eligible HD programs you recorded after January 1, 2019. We’re actively working on increasing the programs and networks Smart Resume is available on. And remember, Smart Resume isn't available on SD recordings. I hope this helps.

Yea I had a problem with it last week for a couple of days on major networks prime time that usually have it but it is good now. How did we function before it was a feature.  lol.

Not to be "beating a dead horse" as they say, but the FOX show that has it as being available on is the one that I recently tried to use it and it was totally messed up.  This is what I have found with a number of shows that I recorded on the networks that you mentioned and had the same issues.  For now I do not relay on it at all.  Maybe some day it will work but I am not going to hold my breath.

@ComcastAmir I stated it was working again. The smart resume problem just happened for two days around thanksgivng.  I was refering to another poster who said the same in that time frame. Thanks though.

My smart resume will work at the beginning of the show, but will quit working after the first two. How exactly do you fix that?
