Screen sometimes flashes

I have noticed that occasionally, usually like once a day, sometimes every two days, the screen will flash very quickly. I wondered if it was a problem with my TV but I haven't seen it happen on anything except the cable box. It seems to do it at completely random times. Once it even did it while the video was paused. At first I thought maybe it was a bad HDMI cable. I tried getting a new one, but it didn't help. Do you think the box needs to be replaced?
