Rewind live TV after switching channels

I just switched to Xfinity from Fios and a feature I used often was rewinding live TV after changing channels.  For example, during commercials I would change the channel and then change back to the original channel and rewind to when the commercials ended to not miss any of the show.  This does not appear to be possible with Xfinity as the buffer is cleared when the channel is changed.  Is this a problem with my cable box or does Xfinity not support multiple live TV buffer?

Thanks for your help!

user_nbfzca Hello and Good Morning! Thank you so much for using our Forums and our team is here happy to be able to help with your question about rewinding live TV after changing the channel. Have you noticed if this happens on all the channels when flipping through them or just certain ones?

It appears to happen on all the channels.  I've tried it with local networks and pay channels, including premium movie channels.

Thank you, this feature is supported on all TV boxes, except the RNG150's, do you know which type of box you have?

(Also, here a complete article on this as well)

I have the Xi6-A box and it's the only box I have. To be clear, pause, rewind, and fast-forward work on the channel I'm currently watching. But if I change channels and return to the original channel, the buffer is cleared and can't be rewound to the point when I changed the channel.

I see what you are saying @user_nbfzca, The buffer for pausing and rewinding live TV is usually cleared when you switch to a new channel.

Is this the case with all boxes or just the wireless ones? This was a feature I used a lot with Fios.
