'Remote not working?' Consistent error message

Over the course of the last month, intermittently the 'Remote not working?' error message (image below) has appeared first thing in the morning. It started out about once per week. Now it's happening almost every day. Attempting to unpair the remote and re-pair is unsuccessful because the X1 box is frozen. Replacing the remote batteries with new makes no change. After rebooting the X1 box I can unpair and pair the remote again and I'm back in business...for awhile. Last week during one of the episodes I unpaired and paired with another X1 remote. Unfortunately the following morning the error was waiting on me. If I just reboot the X1 box the remote will not work until I unpair and pair again. All the while, the remote has no issues with TV volume, mute, power, etc. This appears to be a problem with the XG1v4-A box.

Any ideas? I'm getting tired of rebooting this thing.

user_5458b6, Thank you for reaching out to Xfinity Support. I would recommend getting a new remote. You can stop by any Xfinity Store where they will give you a new one free of charge. If you need us to ship you one, we can do that as well. Just let us know what works best for you.

Thanks for the reply. Did you read the part about me swapping remotes from another one of my boxes and it not fixing the problem? It’s not the remote.

Thanks for verifying that you did try a different remote and batteries @user_5458b6. When the remote is working, do you notice any delays in navigation, longer than normal, when pressing buttons to the actions taking place on the screen? With the message populating when you turn on the television in the mornings as well, would you be able to look at turning off the HDMI-CEC device control to see if that helps as well?  You can locate steps on how to turn off the HDMI-CEC device control by visiting our 'Manage power preferences on X1' support page. Please let me know and provide an update.

I have been traveling but turned off the HDMI-CEC device control before I left. There was no error this morning. I'll update here if the problem reoccurs.
