Remote not selecting input option

I have a new LG tv. When pressing the x1 remote input, the input options show up on the tv display. With the tv remote, I have to press enter to select the specific input. The enter on the xfinity remote doesn’t do anything. I’d like to avoid using the LG remote. I saw a thread like this from 3 years ago, but no solution was offered. Has anyone been able to fix this?
