Re: New 4K Comcast Box - Does it Support Multiple Remotes?
The same thing happened to me after returning 3 cable boxes that did not work properly within the last 2 months. I called Comcast and was told that this box does not pair with more than 1 remote. Now my husband in his chair and I in mine have to get up and walk over to a central table every time one of us wants to use the remote that we have to share. How user-UNfriendly of Comcast! BTW our latest cable box is model AX014ANM or XG1v4-A.

pick one that is blinking red/green. the flash pattern says "I am unable to communicate with the set top box I am paired with". is it an xr11/xr15? they have different pairing procedures. if it is the xr11, press the bottom left set up button until LED changes color then press the Xfinity button. note other set top boxes may also respond and that is normal. type in the code you see on the TV screen to pair to that set top box. you may need to be close and in line-of-sight to the IR window on the front of the set top box during setup.

you posted on an old thread which is now closed. yes you can pair up to 5 remotes on each X1 set top box (that beings with X like your box). shen you try to use the one that is not working, what do the LED's do on the non-paired remote (green? red? green/red). what model of remote is it?

The remotes I have tried to pair with the latest cable box are XR15v2 (like the one I paired with the box) and XR11. The additional remotes blink between red and green for a couple seconds and then turn off and will not set up. Thank you for trying to troubleshoot.
