Proper steps to ensure live sports 4K stream

Can you please confirm the process to ensure viewing of live 4K sports coverage? It seems on the channel itself the lower resolution stream is provided and you must instead go through the on-demand menu (say "4K" into the mic) to stream the live 4K content of Premier League games. Will this process be the same in the future or will there be a live feed 4K channel to tune into for sports on Fox/FS1 and NBCSN?

I also saw news of Thursday night NFL football games and MLB ALCS being broadcast in 4K. Will these be available  on Xfinity through this same process or a live FOX 4K channel?

Thank you

Presently there aren’t any linear networks that are broadcasting in 4K, nor is there any news on adding any. Presently, access to those sports is in 4K is how you’re doing it.

NBC is saying that all Notre Dame home games will be in 4K. Will I get to watch in 4K?

Do you have the proper equipment? Either an XG1V4 dvr or Xi6
https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/uhd-4k-faqs

To find the 4K games, you can say “4K” into your Xfinity Voice Remote, then go to the Sports category in the X1 menu, and then select Football on the guide.

I have a XG1V4 so I guess I'm good to go.

How much in advance of the game(s) can we see the listing?

Baseball was never in the mix.

Looks like they added the LSU/Florida game tonight as a 4K broadcast. Where is the Fox ALCS Yankees vs Astros game in 4K? Is Xfinity pulling all the Fox 4K broadcasts like they have for Thursday night NFL? Disappointing.

You have to have configured the display connection to the highest resolution to get any 4k content - the box won't switch resolution on its own except for HDR.  You can check Amazon/Netflix/Youtube or the few free on demand 4k movies to make sure your settings and HDMI cable are working.

I don't understand this. This morning I did a 4K search and it listed tonights baseball game on FS1 as 4K but it said internet. When I checked the guide it only said HD.

They aren't in the guide or on a normal channel.  Go to the sports section and find the duplicate entries - one will be the 4k internet feed, one the normal channel.  It might help to say 4k to the remote but if you know the game you should see the duplicate listing for it in the xfinity>sports area.  It may only show up the day the game is on.

Use your voice remote and say 4K, whatever is available will be shown. If it’s internet, it’s not on a linear channel but a 4K stream through the box

It’s still a beta service at best. My 4K feed of the ALCS game 2 last night didn’t show up as available until around the 6th inning. I continually checked by saying “4K” into my remote to get the listings. It didn’t show up for me in Houston until mid way through the game. Interestingly, if you press “c” to get to the sports app, the available 4K feeds will show up there as well. Once it worked, it was great. No commercials (they just leave a wide angle camera view of the the inside of the stadium while the main channel shows commercials). The other “downside” is stereo audio feed, at least for this baseball feed. Whole experience is quirky at best, so hope it improves with time.
