program TV channel to repeat weekly

I have a 6 channel DVR.  There is a "local" channel that has no title.  I would like to program a recording for this channel to record at a particular time every week on a particular day.  How can I do that?  E.g. channel 972, tuesday 10am for 1 hour, every week.

You can’t set it up as a weekly recording, you’ll have to do the manual process every week

Bummer.  I was hoping that I could set up a recurring record.  I had found the manual setting.  Previously, we had a 2-channel DVR and it was able to make a recurring record.  I guess a lot change in the upgrade to 6-channel.

@dale645954 We do have the option to be able to record a series and I know this has been super helpful for me since I do not always remember to record a show each week. This is a link that shows you step by step on how to do this process.   https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/x1-record-a-series

  1. Press the Guide button on the remote.
  2. Select a program and press OK on the remote.
  3. Highlight Record and press OK.
  4. Highlight All future episodes and press OK.
  5. You can also choose your recording options by selecting All episodes:
    • Record: Record only new episodes or record new and repeat episodes.
    • Channels: Set your HD or SD channel preference.
    • Save: Save until space is needed or for one year.
    • Keep: Keep all episodes or keep multiple episodes.
    • Start: Start on time or start one or two minutes early.
    • Stop: Stop on time or three, five or thirty minutes late.

Note: You can change these options later by going into the series you want to modify at Menu > Saved > Scheduled then select the recording. Choose Record Options, Modify and then All Episodes.

Unfortunately, that will not work in my case.  The guide entry for that channel has 24/7 blocks of 4 hours with label "Local 3".  So if I said to record all, it would record 24 hours per day/ every day.  That is why I need to be able to record a specific time slot once per week, every week.  I could do that on the 2 channel DVR, but not on the 6-channel DVR.

I truly apologize for the frustration and inconvenience of not being able to set up that recurring recording. In this situation you would need to set up the manual recording as outlined in the link. I can understand that isn't ideal but you should be able to set up multiple recordings for different days. Did you have any other questions or concerns that we can assist you with?

As I said in my opening question, your step 5 would not work.  The channel I want to record at specific times only has a generic title of "local 3" on all blocks, each of which are six hours long.   I can use one suggestion in this thread to manually record the appropriate time -- but cannot make that a weekly occurance.

It wonders me why the 2-channel DVR could do this and the "bigger better" 6-channel DVR cannot do the same.
