Paramount +

So, I have a paramount+ account, watch on my Roku TV.  I'd like to be able to watch on my main TV (non Roku) and use my X1 DVR and simple use voice commands as I do Netflix.  However, I get this message that says my equipment needs upgraded, and they will send me at N/C.  Does this mean I will get a new DVR or simply an add on box?

Hello there @SpencerPJ!  Thanks so much for taking the time to reach out to Comcast here on out Community Forum!  We are so glad to hear from you and ready to assist in any way that we can today!  It seems that the current device that you have may be a bit dated to handle all streaming services.  The X1 system recognizes that.  When this message is received, this would an upgraded device to replace the current one.  The new device would be shipped to you and you can even return the device to us by my or even in one of your local Xfinity Stores, UPS Stores or online at https://comca.st/3wUIfFD;

So, the new box will have the paramount+ ability, and will have the same DVR capability?

Also, will the recordings I have still be available after switching boxes?

@kenmo1948, as long as you set up a box that is capable of DVR you will continue to have that service and the same amount of storage as long as it's a simple box swap.

However, for the recordings, that is a bit tricky. Any recordings that are on the cloud should continue over to the new box. With any recordings that are stored on the hardware of the box itself may not transfer over.

Here are a few key things to keep in mind when it comes to the cloud DVR:

The cloud typically only has 150 hours of storage, after that recordings will be deleted and/or stored on the physical DVR itself. If the recordings are over a year old, they also are typically on the physical DVR. The same tpyically goes for pay-per-view events as well.

Now this is all by saying you have the physical DVR itself rather than the minimum cloud storage by itself. On a computer you can go to this link https://comca.st/3h9zKBH to view the recordings in the cloud. This link https://comca.st/3h83XB8 also has additional information and FAQs on the cloud DVR service for X1.
