Pairing XR15 Remote to TCL S325 and Bose Solo 5 Soundbar

I'm trying to pair my XR15 remote with a new TCL S325 TV and a Bose Solo 5 soundbar that are connected to each other via an optical cable (no HDMI ARC available on the soundbar).  By holding the 'xfinity' and 'mute' buttons until the LED turns green, I can control the TV with code 11756 (not any of the other suggested TCL codes), then when prompted to pair the Bose soundbar, I can use either codes 31933 or 33708 to successfully control the volume, however the XR15 will no longer control the TV.  Hitting the power button on the XR15 will only power off the soundbar not the TV.  Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?  Thank in advance!

I see it's been several months since you posted, so I assume you've figured it out by now, but in case you haven't  (or if there's anyone else as frustrated with this as I was), thought I'd post the steps necessary.

We have a Sony tv and a Bose sound bar which is connected w/ an optical cable.

The process seems to be to first pair your tv, then stop and exit the programming.  After that, do not go through the "settings" route to program the soundbar.  Instead, just press the Xfinity + mute buttons on their own, then enter the Soundbar code.

Here are the steps I followed to success:

1 - pair your XR15 remote with your tv as instructed.  When it asks if you can control volume, try the volume buttons and although you won't be able to control the volume, if you get the "tv audio is fixed" error message, that means it's trying and is paired to the tv screen.  Just say "yes" and exit.

2 - Exit completely out of programming and settings and just tune to a normal channel.

3 - With the tv and sound bar on, do not select settings.  Instead, just press the Xfinity + mute buttons together for about 5 sec until the remote light turns green.

4 - You won't see any prompts on the screen.  In fact, the screen does not display anything to indicate any programming is going on.  Just enter the 31933 Bose code.

5 - The remote light will flash green.  Try using the volume buttons,  and hopefully you will be as surprised as I was that it now works.

Very, very silly that Comcast does not have these instructions anywhere - - - at least anywhere I could find.  I was just so frustrated that I tried anything and got lucky.

Thanks for this info. You're right that Comcast didn't have the proper instructions. I spent quite a while going over their directions to no avail. Then after reading your instructions, is when it worked. Go figure

This did not work for me. I’m about to pull my hair out. The remote will only control the Bose soundbar. It will not turn tv on/off. 🤬

Yes, this worked. Well explained and documented. Thanks.  Comcast needs this in its docs.

We got a new tv yesterday and this Didn’t work for me. It’s either the tv or the sound bar but not both together. The tv is a TLC and the sound bar is Bose. We have the Xfinity 15 remote. We have been able to do both together in the past. This is frustrating!!

Not sure if it will help but my soundbar is connected to TV via ARC HDMI so the TV controls the soundbar. So as long as the Xfinity remote is synced with TV it works.

I wish I was able to do that. Our sound bar does not have an hdmi portal. Only aux, optical, coaxial. Ugh I can’t win!!
