Old X1 DVR with 150 hours local storage vs new 20 hour Cloud DVR offers
Has anyone been asked to pay for their current Xfinity X1 DVR when their term agreement expires if they dont want or need the free 20 hour Cloud DVR that comes with most packages new packages?

if you have a home DVR device then you have a 150 hour cloud DVR included. (was 60). if you do not have a home DVR and do not subscribe to a paid DVR service (cloud based) then in most areas you have the free 20 hour 2-tuner DVR lite that you describe. I notice you are asking about this across many threads. try to keep just one thread about the same subject, if possible.

@Rustyben My question wasn't answered! Let me try again....I have an X1 DVR now. I DO NOT USE THE CLOUD FEATURE TO STREAM AWAY FROM HOME. Been with Comcast for 26 years. 2 year package is expiring. I'm being told two different things from Comcast Customer Retention;
1st) Their new 20 hour Cloud DVR for $7.50 is sufficient to hold my current 80 recordings.
2nd) Another Comcast Rep is saying if I want to keep my 80 recordings ( Not 80 hours) that are currently on my X1 DVR, I will have to pay $10. extra in addition to the $7.50 Box charge that includes 20 hours of Cloud recordings.
Does anyone know which is true?

x1 service with a DVR in the home includes free of charge the cloud DVR that can be used in or out of your home (different features if out of home). It doesn't matter if you access it. 'if' you return your home DVR, and subscribe to cable TV then you have choices. The way it is described now is with x1 internet and TV but no paid DVR you have a 20 hour 2 tuner DVR. a 20 hour DVR with 80 programs would be only 15 minutes maximum per program (20*60/80=15 minutes) so I can't follow the idea that those hours would fit on a free 20 hour DVR in the cloud.
