Not staying paused long enough

When pausing a recorded tv show it automatically unpauses really quickly.  It says 10 minutes but that is NOT long enough.  PLEASE Xfinity...correct this issue!  [Edited: "Language"]!

Hello @user_doubce and thanks for expressing your concern on our Xfinity Community forums.

Your feedback is very important to us, and we appreciate you sharing it with us.

When a recording you are viewing is paused for too long, and it simply stops the program after a while, there are usually a couple of reasons for this.

One is to prevent screen burn-in. On certain types of televisions and monitors, if you retain the same image on the screen for an extended period, it can actually cause damage to the screen, leaving a faint afterimage that is visible even when you switch away from it to view something else.  This is why most DVR's (physical or cloud based) typically have a 10-minute limitation hard coded into them when pausing programming.

The simplest way to prevent this if you need to walk away from a recording you're watching for an extended period is to simply stop the playback.

When you stop a recording on your Xfinity DVR, it saves your exact spot. When you select the program again from your recordings, you will be prompted to either Resume where you left off or Start Over.
