Noisy replacement dvr

I recently traded in my x1 dvr as I was receiving messages that I needed to upgrade to take advantage of new features. I made an appointment at my local xfinity store and swapped out the device. “New” device has a clock and is making loud fan noises all of the time which is disturbing. I would like a more current 4K box to solve the problem. How can I go about doing this. Thanks!

Hello there @user_922edf!  Thanks so much for taking the time reach out to Xfinity Support here on our Community Forum.  We are so glad to hear from you and want to assist in any way that we can.  No worries!  You have reached out to the right team, and we are going to get things squared away for you.  If you are looking to obtain a 4K device, you can always swap your device out in a local Xfinity Store or we can have one shipped out to you.

@XfinityArmand Thank you Armand! Sending me a replacement box works for me. I assume that I would then either send the old box back or drop it at Xfinity store? I can also pick one up if I can be sure that one will be available at my store in Sandy Springs GA.

Awesome! I can definitely check that out for you! Can you

please send me a private message with your full name and full address?

To send a "Peer to peer" ("Private") message:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
• Click the "Peer to peer chat" icon
• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
• Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity
Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
• Press Enter to send it
