no screen saver option

Hello, I have reviewed the forum and see that in the past there is some talk about screen savers and not being able (or even have the option) to change your screen saver. These are relatively old, is there a fix yet?

I'd like the answer also.  I used to have landscapes and starting today, I only see animals and no option to change it in Device Settings.

There isn't an option for screen saver type

I’m also having this problem.  My setting was Landscapes and now all I’m seeing is Animals.  Went into Settings and the Screen Saver Type option has disappeared.  There’s no way to select what you want to see (and DEselect Animals).

Same problem here. Over the weekend, I had landscapes, which I love. Suddenly, I now have animals and no option to change it. The setting has been totally eliminated. What the heck?

Hi there @Wicked123. I am sorry to hear that you lost your landscapes screen saver. You are in the right place and I am happy to assist you today. You can actually get your landscapes screen saver back. If you go to Screen saver settings for your X1 TV Box, it will give you the steps on how to change your options. 
Change Your Screen Saver Type
Press the xfinity button on the remote.
Highlight Settings (the gear icon) and press O
Use the down arrow on the remote to highlight Device Settings and press OK.
Use the down arrow on the remote to highlight Screen Saver and press OK.

Highlight Screen Saver Type and press OK.

Use the up arrow or down arrow button to highlight one of the following categories of images: LandscapeEntertainment or Animals. Press OK.

Press Exit to finish.

 

I hope that these steps help you out. If you go to the link I provided you it will have all the steps but it will include pictures with the steps.

I am so sick and tired of xfinity BUGS. Screen saver type is not listed for me. I reset box and still no [Edited: "Language"] type. I want landscapes. I now have crazy animals on my big screen TV scaring the [Edited: "Language"] out of my dogs. I will cancel xfinity if this is not fixed

Hello, @dsinya. I appreciate you searching our forums to find the answer to your question before posting your own inquiry. We have not made any updates to the screensaver settings. The categories of the images continue to be Landscape, Entertainment or Animals.

But when following your instructions (Xfinity), there is no option to change them. There are only three options:

Screen Save Preview

Screen Saver Starts After: 

Feed

There is no "screen saver type" as an option.

Thanks for reaching out through Xfinity Forums, user_46ac10. I know I enjoy having the screensaver on the setting I like, so I understand wanting to update the option. Have you tried restarting the box to see if that helps with being able to edit the option?

@XfinityRaul​ Thank you. I realize that those are the three options, however, the category was not visible, so there were not options to choose. My screensaver has came back (with no help from me) all on it's own. I am very grateful to have the forum, thank you again.

same here. no option to change screen saver. It's GONE!  Also, it'd be nice if you gave us even MORE screen savers!

granbjd22, Here are the steps to change the screensaver. Also, thank you for your feedback. 
To change the screen saver on X1, follow these steps:
Press the **xfinity** button on the remote.
Highlight **Settings** (the **gear icon**) and press **OK**.
Use the **down arrow** to highlight **Device Settings** and press **OK**.
Highlight **Screen Saver** and press **OK**.
Highlight **Screen Saver Type** and press **OK**.
Choose between **Landscape**, **Entertainment**, or **Animals** for the screen saver type.
Press **Exit** to finish.

Ditto, no option for screen saver type. I might add that the AI bot help was useless for answering a very precise question offering >10,000 unrelated articles to read. I’m thinking that natural stupidity has been replaced with artificial intelligence…

Yeah, I don’t want this “wicked”on my television. Please give us screensaver options as the ones you have listed above DO NOT EXIST!!  There is no landscapes or animals, NO OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE!!   Please get this “wicked” garbage off my TV as I pay for my cable and it shouldn’t be what you want to show or advertise.

Yeah this is nonsense. They want to put animals or landscapes there what are you going to do, but if they’ve got us paying for advertisements that’s going too far.

Yup you keep giving us the steps but there is no screen saver type to pick from this gone. I just restarted my box and still not there. Can you find out why?

I came here because I have the same problem and the Xfinity AI Assistant was utterly worthless.  I see that the (supposedly) human representatives are no more helpful....

Maybe if I use all caps it will help?

As so many others have already told you on this thread, there is no "screen saver type" option available at all.

Repeatedly telling people to navigate to "screen saver type" after they have told you that this option does not exist is not helpful.

I am also having this same problem! Read our message THERE IS NO SCREEN SAVER TYPE, only screen saver preview and the preview is animals. Ugh! Please fix the problem!

After a frustrating long attempt to chat with a human, I was told I have to upgrade my box and was sent this link. It’s a no go with my better half right now due to this action resulting in the loss of all her saved cooking shows, so I’ll have to tolerate “wicked” and endless xfinity promo…🥴


Reading the Q&A possibly explains the degraded download bandwidth I experience as I wait for buffering while skipping though [Edit: Language] commentary watching recorded football on my iPad.

So many "official" Xfinity employees have responded in this thread, all saying the same thing, telling us how to navigate to the correct option to select what we want in our screen saver, and we all say the same thing -- THERE IS NO OPTION AVAILABLE! We are forced to accept your new default which is the Entertainment category, which is for now multiple screens advertising the movie Wicked. But what is most interesting is the response above from "XfinityJamesC" saying "we do not currently have an explanation why" the option is not available. Well, according to the customer service HUMAN I was finally able to reach, after going thru automated system [Edited: "Language"], she informed me that her "management" told her the choice has been "permanently removed"!! SO WHO IS RIGHT? XfinityJamesC who says they don't know what's wrong, or some management person on phone who says choice is gone, get used to it.

Same issue..! 😡  No SS Type to select.. So best option at this point is to increase the SS Start After time to 30 minutes... So you get 'wicked' less often.. 👍

Still no screen saver option. What I am seeing instead is “ad” for new wicked movie. Over and over. Is it going to change back to screen saver options?

This is still a problem. Except now the only screen saver is an advertisement for the Universal movie Wicked. It’s not fair to make us watch that over and over. Please, please fix the screen saver option feature.
