No response after switching inputs
We have a new Yamaha receiver, Sony tv, PS4, and a 4k box. We use the xfinity remote to turn the system on, change channels etc. After changing inputs on the receiver from cable to PS4 and then going back to cable we get all kinds of various issues. The cable will come back but we cannot change channel or look at the guide view, can’t use voice command OR no input is found message OR cable comes back and there’s very very slow response.
The only way to fix it is to reset the cable box.
We’ve swapped out the cable box but still have the issue.

As noted in my post a few days ago, I have the exact same problem as user_1a95eb with the XG1v4 and a Denon AVR-X3800H. Often (but not always) the DVR stops responding to the remote after I switch away to another AVR input and then back to the Xfinity input. Sometimes it starts to respond after several minutes, but usually it requires a DVR reboot. After half a dozen calls and chats with support went nowhere, I decided to poke around more on my own.
The symptoms suggest that something untoward is happening in the HDMI communication between the AVR and Xfinity box. HDMI-CEC can be quite flaky, especially with equipment from different vendors. HDMI-CEC is On by default with the Xfinity box. So, I turned it off last night and, so far at least, the problem is gone! I've switched back and forth multiple times, with viewing or more than hour on other inputs, and the DVR has responded to the remote each time when I go back to the Xfinity input.
What's odd here is that I have another room with a Denon AVR-S640H and the same DVR that has HDMI-CEC set to On and there's never been a problem in that room. If HDMI-CEC is the issue, as this testing seems to suggest, then maybe there's some difference in how the two Denons (and your Yamaha) communicate with the DVR when switching inputs. I don't think HDMI-CEC does much of value on the DVR. The setting is buried under Power Preferences and what little documentation I could find at Xfinity says it is used to put the DVR into stand-by mode when the AVR or TV is turned off. I did notice that with HDMI-CEC On, my LG TV knows Xfinity is the source selected on the receiver, which is not the case with CEC turned Off. But, that doesn't matter to me.
At any rate, @user_1a95eb you might want to try setting HDMI-CEC to Off and see if your problem goes away. These kinds of HDMI changes usually don't take affect until all involved equipment is powered off and back on.

We have the exact same problem in a setup with a Denon AVR-X3800H! The remote failure after switching to the Xfinity AVR input doesn't happen everytime, just after a day or two, and can only be fixed by rebooting the DVR. The system also has a Sony 4K disc player and Firestick 4K Max attached to the AVR.
One support agent thought it was the remote losing pairing. But, I've tried an XR15, XR11, and Harmony and they all act the same. Plus, they continue to be paired with the TV and AVR throughout and they are still paired with the DVR and work just fine after rebooting the Xfinity box. So, that doesn't seem to be the problem.
We have two rooms with 4K sets and I've swapped the XG1v4 boxes between them. The problem stays in the one room regardless of which box is there. We also had a service visit and the tech did not find a cause.
Please help!

Hello @user_1a95eb and thank you for your post. Do you notice this issue happens when you just have the cable box connected without the Receiver?
