New X1 DVR had shows recorded and scheduled from before it was activated??

Just picked up a X1 DVR and hooked it up on 1/3/22 replacing a non X1 non cloud hard drive DVR that had only 1 recorded show remaining. A local news report from Jan 2021. After setting up new X1 DVR and adding a few series to record I noticed many shows already scheduled to record, some on channels I have never watched. Support claims they can't help because I deleted the shows but claims my old DVR could have put them in the schedule. If that was the case then the 1 news show I left there that I actually wanted to tape would be there. This is impossible as my old DVR was not cloud based and was an old model 3400. My issue now is I noticed in the Priority settings it shows my newly set scheduled recordings first but a bunch of shows I've never heard of continuing down the list. I stopped at #37 thinking I could go online with my PC into the account and remove those there. I can't find where to do this. I only see how you can schedule a series and view what's already scheduled on the TV box but I do not see the priority option.  Can this be done online or not?

Thanks

FWIW I had a very similar experience with a replacement XG1v4-2 DVR box I picked up at the Xfinity Store on 1/3/22.  It's defective, like the one I replaced, albeit it at least gets past the initial "Welcome" boot screen and *tries* to "connect to my entertainment experience" before always failing with an RDK-03009 code.  However, this box at least does respond to reset requests from the central server, so it's alive whereas my prior XG1v4-2 box that worked well for over 3 years went totally non-responsive and appeared to be bricked.

The part that's similar to your experience is that ever since I plugged this replacement DVR box into my home MOCA network (I have another XG1v4-2 plus two satellite X1s that still work fine), I appear to have picked up about 30+ series recordings on my X1 account that I never added.  A bunch of crime/cop/doctor shows that we never watch.  I can only conclude these series recordings, which were added to my schedule, came off of the replacement DVR box that I just recently plugged in.

This "new" box is actually quite old and obviously refurbished.  I has a serial number that is quite a bit older than the XG1v4-2 box I replaced, which I'd had since 08/2018.  It also has scratches all over the back, making the serial number a bit hard to read.  Obviously well used at some point, and I presume the source of all these recordings I do not want.

I had to spend 20 minutes or so on my other (other) working X1 boxes to get rid of a bunch of scheduling recordings, and then the series themselves.  To do this you go to the Saved -> Scheduled menu on the X1, then select "Series Priority" from the sub-menu bar below the top one, above where the actual schedule starts.  When the Series Priority dialog appears, move down to the series you want to delete and hit the "Info" button *without* first selecting it.  That part is important and non-intuitive.  Once you select it, you can only move it, not bring up info.  On the Info screen for that series you can then select Record Options -> Cancel to delete the series from your X1 DVR schedule for all X1 boxes.

Thanks, that helped. I had 41 shows in the priority after I discovered this feature and only set about 6 shows to record. The 'advanced' rep told my that my old non X1 non cloud dvr still registered my recordings on their system which I think is BS. I could never check recordings online because I never had cloud DVR. It is a lot of steps to delete each unwanted priority as after each one, you must start at the top and scroll past the ones you set yourself. So there is no way to see this priority list in my online account on the PC? That might make deleting these a lot faster.

I have to replace with my old DVR so I can record the 1 local news broadcast. Also I need to check how the same on demand show (no way to look at a recording from the new box on the old box) looks on the old box because the color seems weird and is washed out and the TV calibration has not changed. That plus the excessive noise from the XG1v1 PX013ANM used box may cause us to end our X1 service and go back to the old boxes. The box you have is bluetooth only and lacks a digital audio out and with no second HDMI out there is no way to watch a movie on our surround receiver.

If you download the Xfinity Stream app, you can see what is scheduled to record and swipe left to click Cancel. This will then ask if it’s an episode or series. You can then delete unwanted series much quicker.

This same thing is happening to me! And its not thru the box as I have had 5 since early November!! Don’t ask, that’s a whole other complaint! I have future recordings, all different, appearing on my “scheduled” recordings. Programs I would NEVER watch. I have contacted Xfinity so many times, they don’t call me back anymore. I am disgusted! If it were up to me I would yank the system out! Unfortunately, my husband wants to keep it. I delete and a whole new set shows up a few days later!!

I'm having the exact same problem. Haven't had TV service on account for over 6 months. Decided to turn the cable back on and now there are shows already scheduled that I've never watched and I cannot remove them from the schedule. I've tried refreshing the system, restarting the DVR, and I cannot find anywhere else on my account page to remove these recordings.. VERY FRISTRATING!!!

To XfinityMikeB,

The above solution does not solve anyone's problem! My new 1st every X1 DVR with Cloud backup also had scheduled AND previously recorded shows on it. After deleting all scheduled recordings that I did not make and removing over 30 that were in the priority list more showed up this week! This proves that Comcast does not really wipe/erase the boxes returned from customers before they give them out again. I think 'wipe' means wipe the dust off with a rag! For Comcast to say 'refurbished' is a joke. They are clearly sending out used boxes without erasing the hard drives and until they acknowledge this and change their ways their customers will still have this problem. This is why I will look into burying a coax cable out to the shed in the spring so I can try out satellite providers and stop playing monopoly.
