New Wireless Cable Box vs. Coax Box
Hello, I recently received the email to update all 3 of my cable boxes. The new one's were sent and they are (3) small wireless boxes. I had (2) coax boxes starting with a serial #CS and (1) larger coax box starting with serial #PA (Pace box). I thought the Pace box was the main box. Can someone verify I do not need to keep this one before returning it? I setup the 3 new one's and the one I replaced with the Pace box was taking 30-45 seconds to come on each time and kept saying the box had to restart. I checked all connections and it kept happening, but now it might be fine.
Just not familiar with the new boxes all being wireless and want to make sure I do not need a main box per se since they are all wireless boxes. Also any main differences (outside of coax connection vs. wireless)?
Thanks,
Matt R.

I have a similar question. My "upgrade" of the main tv box is the same digital adapter (XiD - P) that I just replaced with the wireless boxes in the bedrooms. How is this an upgrade?

I had glitches in recordings on my XG2v2-P. From previous experience, the boxes start failing after a few years, so I thought a new one would solve the problem. I was sent a XiOne, but when I installed it, there were only 15 recordings, whereas there were 118 on the old box. I exchanged the XiOne for an Xi6-A, being told it had greater storage capacity. However, the Xi6 only showed 15 recordings. A comment on this Forum said to use the XG1v4, which is still cable-connected, but has 4K. I tried calling my local Xfinity center, but they don't have a public number, so I spoke to an Xfinity employee on their 800 number, who also couldn't verify if the XG1v4 was available; he couldn't assure me I'd be able to retrieve the recordings on my old box. SO, I think that before you exchange your old DVR for the new streaming models, you should watch what you've recorded, because you CAN'T RETRIEVE OLD RECORDINGS WITH NEW EQUIPMENT.
