NEW OLED TV CABLE BOX NOT CONNECTING

I just recently bought a new Sony Bravia Oled A90K series TV.  I have the same X1 cable box I have always had with my old Samsung 4k TV for years but now I am having constant issues when I turn the TV on saying Cable box not connected. The TV shows white snow before turning black for about 30 seconds and then it connects. I have tried different HDMI Cables and different ports but it's still the same issue. Do I need a newer cable box or do I need to get a 4K box? If I do need a replacement box can that be shipped to me like a upgraded modem or do I have to go to the Xfinity store? Thanks for the help!

Don't use the cable remote to turn on tv and cable-box. Use the cable-box remote to start box about a minute before using tv remote to turn on the tv. The new tv is too fast looking for the cable-box. I gave up years ago trying to let the cable remote start both.

@MNtundraRET Thanks for your response! The cable box is always on I don't turn it off. I have tried both the Sony remote and Xfinity remote to turn the TV on. This issue started right away but it was every once in a while but now it's a daily thing. Thanks again!

Hello, @user_f099e3! Thank you for your post and subsequent responses. I wanted to check in to see if you still need assistance. Couple of quick questions; have you tried what our Expert recommended and started turning off the TV Box when not in use to see if that would help? Also, is the new television a 4K TV? If it is, you should be able to get a 4K TV Box from us instead to see if that helps with the connectivity speed. Let me know what other questions you have, if any, and we'll remain here to help!

I have learned to turn off the cable box overnight. Evidently it goes into sleep mode if left on. It takes a while to restart. Likely your problem.

I've had internet service for a couple of years.  I purchased my own Xfinity approved modem to avoid the $15 per month rental fee.  It works just fine for internet.  I've decided to buy one of the Xfinity TV packages for my TV.  I was given a wireless TV box from the retail store and was told it would be no problem to self-install.  It would not connect at all.  When I called Xfinity for help the technician told me wireless TV boxes would only connect with Xfinity modems but I should be able to connect with cable TV boxes.  I went back to the store and exchanged boxes from wireless to cable.  I still cannot get the cable TV box to connect to my modem.  Please help!!

@user_5bdab0 I understand that you swapped our a wireless X1 box for a wired X1 cable box. What is the error code or message you are receiving when you try to activate the device?

I no longer work for Comcast.
