My wifi boxes are never synced

We will be watching TV show or sports like hockey. The living room box will say one time in the period and the porch box will be 30 seconds behind or 30 secs ahead, if not sometimes more. We've had the line changed 3x, have had several boxes changed. The last tech explained the time difference like a radio station. 2 cars listening to the same station but 1 will be off by seconds to a minute. I laughed in his face. I said no way. When im watching the game and I scream Yeah, great goal and my husband hasn't even seen the rest of the play yet. Something is seriously off. Of course he was a subcontractor for Xfinity. His apprentice even agreed with me. Has anyone else experienced this type of issue.

Hello @Hockeymom67. The Xfinity worker is correct. If the cable boxes are not on the same line and if they are wireless, it could cause a slight delay in real time. This also happens if you are streaming the show compared to watching it on your main cable box that is wired in.

Hello, thank you for your response. What do you by not on the same line? We never had this problem before until lines from the pole went bad. All the boxes are hooked up to the same line. I can pause one TV to be exact with the other while watching regular vable channels. And within 15min they are a minute or more apart from each other.

Is there a playback speed that could cause thi Much like YT videos that you can watch at a different speed bc someone may talk slower.

Would this be an issue if we went back to all hard-line boxes? Because its beyond annoying especially when watching a sports game on their regular networks not package networks. Even watching a movie On Demand the boxes will be out of sync. Heck they even play different commercials. How that happens is beyond all of us some how.

Thanks for your advice above and if you have anymore, its greatly appreciated.

@Hockeymom67 Honestly, while having a wired box may prevent delays, they can still occur. It sounds like the delay you're experiencing is minor. In regard to the On Demand programming, the commercials will vary because it isn't playing on live TV if that makes sense.

If we're watching LIVE TV and the commercials are different and when made to sync by pausing them to be equal and they still 20 min later are 3-5 min apart on time how is that ok? We're talking about channels such as live tv and NHL Center ice package. I can have them finally synced by pausing and 20min later i see the goal on one tv and the other tv is minutes behind. I don't see any other consumers complaining of these type problems. And this is after having 3 lines rerun to the house  multiple box changes and modem changes. My parent's don't have this problem, my neighbors don't have these problems. It just makes no sense that all of a sudden these issues occur.
