Multiview

when will I be able to select the networks I want to watch in multiview? Most of the time there are games I’m not interested in on multiview…. I want to be able to pick what I want to watch in multiview.

Hey @user_g4x1ek , Thank you for visiting our official Xfinity Forums Community support page. We appreciate your interest and feedback in our Multiview offerings. Multiview currently allows up to 4 feeds to be displayed for select events with eligible X1 video equipment.

Currently, Multiview is only available for sports ranging from MLB, MLS, NBA, NFL, and more. We would be more than happy to forward your feedback that you wish to be able to customize the Multiview features to other channels as well that you would like to see in the future.

I agree, it would be nice to be able to select the specific games you want to watch in Multiview. Also, if you only want to watch 2 or 3 games vs. 4 default as well.

The rollout of multiview is nice. Would like to see the ability to select whatever we want for each box in the future. And also the ability to create it at any time, not just on certain days.

Agreed…should be able to select the games you want to watch. And not necessarily the same sport. Should be able to watch baseball and football at the same time.

Just got our multiview set up and ready for college football. Disappointed that we can’t pick the channels. I wanted 4 football games, but only getting 2. Could care less about golf and soccer on the other 2 tiles!

I came here to echo most of what what’s already been said. But I wanted to make it noted again. We purposely updated to a new box so we could watch multiple games that happen to be on at the same time. We were very disappointed to just get it set up only to find: 1)we are unable to actually select the games we want to watch. That sort of defeats our original purpose as I’m sure some of the games we want to watch won’t be the selected ones and 2)there’s no option to watch anything other than 4 games at once. I really hope Xfinity gives its customers the ability to choose their own games soon!

@user_2x5jd4 thank you for taking time to reach out over Xfinity Forums. That's unfortunate to hear that you're unable to get the Multiview App to launch, and wanted to check to see if you're still experiencing issues access that features. Please follow up at your convenience, I look forward to hearing back from you.

I am a long time xfinity customer. Was excited for multi view. The commercial does not show limitations. I ordered the new box. Found it only uses additional pay services. Make use ESPN and TV networks. I sent the box back kept my DVR. Big rip off.

I couldn't agree more.  What a silly rip off.  Pay Vince Vaughn to do a fake commercial for a lousy service?  Really?

Totally agree. YouTube allows you to pick what you want. I often only want to see two of the four multiview games, and want to eliminate two from my screen

Overall, my experience has been much of the same above. Why cant I select only 2 games? Why cant I choose what I want in each box. I mean most of us are paying $250/month for internet and cable. I was excited to see this option was no extra cost, but alas like all of Xfinitys products, its trash. The original posts on here were made over a month ago and there's been no changes. Do something right for your customers for once. Not like were getting these services for free.

We greatly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and feedback regarding our Sports Multiview on X1 @user_stusy7. With Multiview, X1 customers can enhance their sports viewing experience by watching multiple pre-selected professional sports and select special events simultaneously on the big screen.

Currently, Sports Multiview on X1 only supports live sports and events from MLB, MLS, NBA, NFL, NLF Redzone, NCAA Football, and the PGA. We appreciate your interest in expanding the feature to more content. We will be sure to pass it along through the proper channels. At this time we have no further information to share regarding the feature, but your feedback is being heard.

Multiview would be great if you could pick the games. And pick two, three, or four. Force feeding me the games you want me to watch is not a welcome feature.

I agree with everyone with what's been said. Please correct this asap and don't give us any excuses why it can't be done this season. I'm watching the 2 Monday night games and I'm being force fed to view this baseball garbage at the bottom of the window, let me turn that window off or choose another game, i could care less about the over rated dodgers. Let us choose the 2-4 gamed we want, not comcast. If not, you have an outdated product and people will move on if you can't at the very least be on par with youtubetv. You hear that, your not on par with youtube TV. That's gotta hurt. You've got to be the one to out do youtube, not the other way around, thats pathetic. I'd pass this on quickly and by next weekend let US choose the games or we could just go to YouTube TV if your not up to the task.

@Blu9

I ordered a Multiview box on the App on Oct 30 and received it in 2 days. I switched out my 1-year old cable box and installed Multiview on Saturday and quickly enjoyed watching the 4 selected NCAAF games. I was, like others here, disappointed that I couldn't substitute a different NCAAF game into the mix of 4 selected. I hope someday, Xfinity will be able to enable Multiview to allow up to any 4 channels that you are subscribed to, not just sports.

An unexpected thing happened.  I have two smaller Xfinity cable boxes for TVs in the kitchen and one bedroom. After Mulitiew was installed, neither of those TVs worked.  They froze at a channel shaded gray with the wrong time indicated.  An error message popped up with Error code XRE-03121.  I unplugged and replugged box, with the same result.  I called Xfinity and was able to speak with helpful agent in about a minute. He tried activating the two boxes a few times with no success.  He recommended replacing the small cable boxes, so I did that at with very good assistance at our local Xfinity store Saturday afternoon. I got the wireless little boxes, very nice. Set up the boxes for both TVs, and they didn't work, showing the same error code as previously.  I called Xfinity and worked with an agent who tried earnestly for about an hour with a couple different suggestions to help. She said she forwarded my situation to Advance, and that I should expect a call from Advance within a few hours. An Advance agent called a few hours later on our land line (the phone we don't answer), very surprising.  He worked with me on a few things that didn't work, then set up a service call for me on Tuesday, and told me he would call on Sunday morning.

On Sunday morning, I had a Multiview box working on my main TV in the living room, and two TVs that were not working. I had discovered that the Multiview has much less DVR capacity than my previous main box and can record only 2 channels simultaneously.

Also on Sunday morning, the Advance agent called back on our landline again at 8:30. I advised him I was heading back to the

xfinity store and had to run, and asked him to call me back after 2 PM, because...

...Thinking that on Friday night, my regular main cable box and the two small boxes worked fine,  I went back to my Xfinity Store Sunday morning and worked with the same very capable agent I'd worked with on Saturday to return the Multiview box and get a current main box.  I returned home and installed the new main box. and it worked fine.  I checked the other two TVs and they were also working!  Hooray.

The Advance agent called at 2 PM, and I informed him that my 3 TVs were working.  He said he would cancel the service call scheduled for Tuesday.  We thanked each other.

So, in my case, the Multiview main box and the two smaller boxes did not "play" well together.  For your consideration.

I worked with several Xfinity agents over the weekend. I can't remember everyone's names, but they all tried earnestly and politely to help me. In particular, I'd like to thank Kevin (very nice)  and Darcy (who was also very nice and tried the longest), and the Advance agent, a fellow whose name I didn't get, in the field, and Peter, who was really knowledgeable and helpful, at our local Xfinity store. It's been an adventure!

Following up on my response above, I'd also like to thank the second Xfinity agent I worked with on the phone on Saturday, Mia, who also spent a lot of time trying to help me and was very nice.
