MLB.TV not showing up in ESPN.APP on X1

I purchased the MLB.TV subscription through ESPN and it shows up in the IPad ESPN app and on the ESPN web site. If I go into the settings/subscriptions on the X1 ESPN app it shows that I have MLB.TV but its not showing up on the Home page of the ESPN app.

user_ma6v1 Thanks for reaching out! I would recommend restarting the X1 TV box so the entitlements in the app can refresh.

@XfinityMartyR that doesn’t work. Was on the phone with a Xfinity representative and it did nothing.  Very frustrating!

I understand where your frustrations are coming from @user_nhwp67 and am sorry to hear that restarting your X1 box did not help. Have you tried force closing and relaunching our ESPN app or logging out and back in? What steps did the phone rep have you attempt

The rep had me power down and reboot my main X1 box, tried on his end sending a signal and every other. I also logged out of the ESPN app on the Xfinity box and logged back in…still nothing. How do you “force close and relaunch the ESPN app” on the Xfinity box on my tv. The “app” on the Xfinity box seems to be the issue here. Everything says I have ESPN Unlimited and MLB.TV subscriptions. The reason I purchased this through ESPN was to watch on my Xfinity TV!!

Thank you for verifying the steps you took with another agent user_nhwp67, you are able to watch on other device, and not your Xfinity TV box?

I am having the same issue!  Having contacted MLB, ESPN, and then Comcast, nobody can figure this out. I can watch MLB.TV on my phone, but not through my TV on Xfinity through the ESPN app on there now that I got the ESPN Unlimited added.

I too have the same issues. I can watch the MLB package on my I pad but not on my tv with the Xfinity cable box. The employees in the Xfinity store and phone support are clueless! Yes I have the ESPN Unlimited streaming app.

@user_633m2e Thank you for making us aware you're also having this same issue with the MLB games not working with the cable box. I would be more than happy to help figure out a solution to this problem you're experiencing. So that we don't go over something you've already done, can you please share with me what troubleshooting steps have you completed on your own? Have you by any chance used the Xfinity app to reset the cable box? How about a power cycle, have you tried that?

Is there any update on solving this problem? I have the same issue - purchased MLB.TV can see it everywhere but in the Espn Unlimited app through Xfinity. Tried all the resets, restarts, logout, login and nothing works. Spent 30 minutes with an Espn rep and he had no luck either. Is Xfinity able to provide any solution yet?

Nobody at Xfinity has any idea what’s wrong.   Very frustrating!  Hopefully we get some answers soon, it’s Opening Day!

Hi @user_b6a281, I hope opening day went well for your team if they played! A troubleshooting step that may do the trick would be clearing the locally stored data for third-party services. The Clear locally stored data on X1 and Xumo Stream Box from Xfinity article will provide you with instructions on how to do so. Please let us know if this helped or if the issue still persist. 👍

MLB.TV is not working through Xfinity on the ESPN app but works on every other device I use to watch.  I have been on with customer support from ESPN and XFINITY and nothing has worked.  Is there a fix yet.

Did the clearing of data from Xumo box work for anyone? I can watch select games on ESPN app on streaming just not all the games offered on MLB app. MLB app states I’m locked out.

Hello @user_ltrxqy Right now the main options to attempt if you haven't already would be to Clear locally stored data on X1 and Xumo Stream Box from Xfinity and restart the box. We have little to do with the functionality of the content available with the third party apps as well as troubleshooting we can do with the app itself.

Clearing data did not work!!! EsPN is not playing all the MLB games just select few.
MLB site does not let me view any games and says I need to buy a subscription

I am having this issue as well. The xfinity agent keeps reading from a script saying I need a "premium MLB subscription." I have that. I also have a premium ESPN subscription. I can't watch games through ESPN.

Xfinity isn't explicitly listed on the following ESPN article as supporting it, so unless xfinity and /or ESPN initiate changes, I don't see it ever happening. It could also be that allowing it would lead to xfinity selling fewer subscriptions to MLB Extra Innings.

Good evening user_h18vui. Have you already attempted clearing your locally stored data on the box? Here is some information on how to do so.

Clearing data does not fix issue. Go to ESPN website.. Sign in… Go to Account… Scroll past subscriptions and look for MLB Activate and Stream.  This should fix it as it worked for me. If still having issues call ESPn at 800-727-1800
