Is there a wifi signal strength meter on the Xi6 ?
I have a mix of wired and wireless Xi6, and generally they work well....however one STB indicates low WiFi - is there a signal strength meter/readout on the menu of the Xi6? Than would be handy when finding a good location.

Great question, and you’re thinking about this exactly the right way.
The short answer is no. The Xi6 does not have a built-in WiFi signal strength meter or readout in its on-screen menu. There isn’t a setting that shows bars, dBm, or signal quality directly on the box, even though that would definitely be handy when placing it.
That said, there are a couple of practical ways we can still check and improve things.
If the Xi6 is showing a “low WiFi” message, that’s the box itself detecting a weak or unstable connection, even though it doesn’t show a numeric meter. At that point, placement really matters. Moving the Xi6 a few feet, keeping it out in the open, and away from TVs, cabinets, or other electronics can make a noticeable difference.
You can also check the signal strength from the gateway side using the Xfinity app. The app will show connected devices and their connection type, which helps confirm whether that Xi6 is staying on WiFi or dropping in and out.
Since you mentioned you have a mix of wired and wireless Xi6 boxes, the most reliable option for any box reporting low WiFi is to hardwire it with Ethernet or connect it through a nearby xFi Pod if one is available. That takes WiFi variability out of the equation completely.
We know it’s frustrating not to have a simple signal meter on the Xi6 itself, especially when you’re trying to fine-tune placement. If you want, tell us how far that box is from the gateway and whether it’s behind a TV or in a cabinet, and we can give more targeted placement suggestions to stabilize the connection.
