I need to disable screen saver

I sleep with the TV on. Screensaver comes on, sound goes off, and I wake up. Xfinity should not have this control over my TV and it needs to stop.

Hello! I can certainly understand how background noise while sleeping, doing housework, or simply when you are gone from home is important. I personally need some sort of sound while I sleep, myself. While the screensaver does kick on after 5 minutes, 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 5 hours as XfintiyAbbie (Edit: Formatting) mentioned, you can play the Pandora app to prevent the screensaver from appearing while that app is streaming. This means if you are playing the Pandora app, the screensaver won’t engage.

Here is a link for all the X-1 screensaver settings, https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/x1-screen-saver

We encourage and value feedback for all our products and services and truly appreciate hearing from our valued customers to let us know what they would like to see different, how we are doing and how we can improve your experience as a member of our Xfintiy family. Thank you all!

@user_32ddf0 Hello and thank you for taking the time to reach out to us regarding your concerns. Unfortunately there is not a way to turn off the screensaver. The longest you can set it to without the screensaver coming on is 5 hours. You can get the instructions on how to change it here: https://comca.st/3tj70dG

I'd be happy send your feedback up regarding these features.

I work long hours on the weekends and like to leave the TV on for the pets while I'm gone. It now will put the screen saver on after 5 hours even if it's on live TV. It is ridiculous that there is not an option to turn it off. Live TV is not going to burn your screen. Comcast needs to give us the option to turn it off. We pay way too much a month to not have options that work for our lifestyle.

Yes please send feedback.  We all pay lots to have xfinity for TV. We should be able to keep TV on all night if want.  I need it to sleep and drown out street noise.  No reason for TV sound to shut off on screensaver saver either. It feels like we our being treated like kids put on TV time limits!!  TV and boxes these days do not use much energy.  XFINITY PLEASE give option to override ASAP!!

Agree, how do we get Xfinity to put the option to disable. I want it off. Most tvs have the option for a screen saver if I wanted it on, I don't need yours. Please put the option to disable it!!!!????😡

Agreed. Comcast needs to add the option for no screen saver, or at least the ability to set it for a longer period of time before it comes on, like 8 or 12 or 24 hours. Seems like a simple software update could EASILY fix this.

Agree!  This should be the owners choice not Xfinity's!  Please change the setting to enable us to extend over 5 hours or turn it off.

This is rediculus I have small dogs that get scared of loud and weird noises and they learned to sleep with tv on and now after 5 hours the screen saver comes on and no sound. I want to be able to turn this off. This is rediculus to control how long I can have tv on.

I completely agree, why would you have even thought it was okay to not have the option to turn the screen saver off? There are many reasons to not have the screen saver on yet you didn’t think to have an off option included. In your next nightly update please include the option. I’ll be checking daily.

Shutting off the screensaver was the first thing I tried to do. I also leave the TV on for my dog who suffers from anxiety. Thanks a lot Comcast. I hate these boxes. For anyone else, try getting a Roku and use Xfinity Stream to have the TV stay on

Not being able to turn off this "option" which was just downloaded LAST WEEK is awful.  Comcast is really taking steps to push me into signing up with another provider.  It's not an "option," it is IMPOSED upon us.  I cannot fathom what the underlying reason is behind not being able to turn the screensaver off.  This is intrusive and takes too much control away from the user.  Thanks (for nothing), Big Brother Comcast.

I agree!  I leave the TV on for my cats and sleep with it on also.  Is it that hard to have an off option.   For what i pay for ur cable there should be an off option.  This is ridiculous!!  Please make the changes to ur nightly updatea.

Most late model TVs have a sleep setting, could be under power or energy settings too.
