How to stop cable box from nap mode
All of a sudden by cable box has gone into inactive or nap or sleep mode so what I am recording is just a screen with the Comcast pic of weather and time. I have never had this problem before. I have unplug the box and restarted it but keep happening even when I am home & have tv on after 4 hours it ask if I am still there. Why am I pay a lot for cable when your device is destroying anything I try to record when I am not home or late night?

The inactivity prompt and screen saver are designed to help protect your TV screen and reduce the possibility of image retention or burn-in when the same content remains displayed for an extended period.
To make sure we're addressing the right issue, can you tell us a little more about how you're recording the content? Are you using the built-in DVR recording functionality, or are you recording the screen using another device or method?
If you're using DVR recordings, those are typically handled separately from what is physically displayed on the TV screen. If you're using another type of recording method that captures the on-screen video output, the inactivity prompt and screen saver could affect what is ultimately recorded.

There are two functions under Device Settings to check. The first is Power Preference which can be on or off. Off means the X1 goes into nap mode after four hours of inactivity. The other is Screen Saver. That's the graphic with Xfinty promos and other data. It can be set to come on from five minutes to five hours.

Why cant Comcast solve problem and prevent Screensaver from automaticially turn on after 4 or 5 hrs Destroying what the vcr is recording by record the screensaver and not the channel that the TV Box is on. The TV is off as I am at work. What is the point of pay for cable when all of a sudden Xfinity wont allow me to record program I want to watch before going to sleep?
