how to set reminders to go to the Center Ice channels instead of ESPN+?

I have game reminders set up for some of the NHL teams I follow. Unfortunately, when the reminders come up, I can not use them to go to the game as I have NHL Center Ice instead of ESPN+.  I have no desire to jump in and out of an external app when I want to swap back and forth between a TV channel and a game.

How can I change the preferences to go to the actual Xfinity channel (or local broadcast channel if it's my home team)?  Or tell it I don't have ESPN+ or YouTube?

Hey there, @user_7dr1zh thanks for reaching out through Xfinity Forums regarding the sports preferences. I would recommend using Live tab, choose a game, highlight Watch and press OK on your remote.

  • This option is only available for live sporting events currently airing within your channel lineup, which will show the TV icon at the top right of each sporting event.

There is no way to remove an app on the X1 so that ESPN+ is not on your box. However, the Live section should be helpful to show only those games included on your channel lineup. Let us know if you have any additional questions and here is a link to the help with the Sports app, https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/x1-sports-app-watch-games.

I wish the Live section/tab worked that way.  Unfortunately, the list has expanded to include YouTube and ESPN+.

Any other ideas?

Unfortunately there wouldn't be any other ways. It is designed to include all the apps, however, your feedback to have an option to exclude them is valuable and I am happy to pass that along as I do believe it to be a great idea!

Please do. All the streaming services/apps have added so many games for some sports (like NCAAMB (men's college basketball)) that the lists are pretty much useless. At least for those of us with out the particular subscription(s).

Is there any forum to recommend enhancements and get community feedback/ranking?
