HBO Max buffers especially post 8pm

Have seen the same complaint here, other forums, and on Twitter. HBO Max on Comcast, but no other streaming services, freezes up and buffers. This happens most of the time right around or after 8pm. Sometimes it even switches from HD to SD in what seems like an effort to keep playing.

This DOES NOT happen on the other guys - Netflix, Hulu, et al., Only MAX. Has been doing it for months.

Have restarted and reset the modem and the TV box half a dozen times. Still freezes and the other ones DO NOT.

@BobsBlitz Thanks for sharing your experience to the community. Try to clear the local memory on the box to help MAX run fast always. Follow the steps on this https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/x1-clear-cookies-and-local-data-storage page.

OK, I will do this though note I have seen the MAX issue described here, on Twitter, and elsewhere (often with the same caveat that other streamers like Netflix, etc. are fine).

@BobsBlitz, hopefully that action will alleviate the issue. Thanks for being willing to try.

I have seen the same thing. Not sure if it's HBO Max being overloaded at Primetime or an Xfinity issue. It happens for a second or two and continues.
