Getting error "this tv box can't play this program"

Getting error "this tv box can't play this program" on multiple recording on all remote boxes. Started about a month ago with no change with boxes. Did system refresh and rebooted all boxes with no change. What is the solution to this? Has anyone ever solved this?

what you describe is a failure of MoCA communication (ethernet over Coax) with the Hub (usually the DVR). have you changed anything in wiring or hookups?

Nothing has been changed. Only some recording generate this error, but if one does, it generates the error on all 3 remote boxes

Found what is causing this error, posting results for others.

Comcast modified the channel list in my area a while back and duplicated all channels that were in the 800 range to above 1000. The duplicated channels above 1000 are grouped by type of content: news channels, cable networks, kids channels etc. My secondary cable boxes can not tune in these channels above 1000. If the recording was set to record a show on one of the channels above 10000, the secondary cable boxes can not play back the recording and generate this error.

It doesn't make much sense for att least two reasons. First, a recording on a DVR should be that a recording no longer linked to the channel it was recorded on. Second, even though still linked to channel, it's a duplicated channel that is valid for the account.

If this is the case, then why would a program recorded on channel 844 cause the same problem?
