Forumula 1 and IndyCar ignoring series scheduling

In addition to all the missing title problems, I noticed issues with some auto racing series.

I noticed that the Qualifying and race for this weekends F1 French Grand Prix were missing. When I went to set them to record, there is no option to set a series. They are being treated as stand-alone now.

I also had the same issue with the two IndyCar races in Iowa this Saturday and Sunday. Even more, on the Saturday race, when I click on 'More Info' on the regular Info screen, it seems to think it's part of a Mexican Soccer series. When I went to manually set the recording, it popped up a message saying if I wanted to record the sports series.

Why can I not schedule the Indy race series?  Apparently the work-around is to search, locate, and then schedule each practice and race individually. Why?  Prior to the new DVR (xf) the series would record, and all my other series programs do record without the cumbersome work-around. I see others have had the issue but there is no fix mentioned. ?

Hi there, @user_ed0635 and @andyross

Thank you both for alerting us to the recording issues with the Indycar event! It sounds like both of you are unable to set up a series recording, but are you also getting seeing that soccer (or anything else that's unrelated) is showing when you select "More Info", @user_ed0635

Hi there! Since this is a live event, it will show as a standalone show. You will need to set each recording separately.

@XfinityAirelle Echoing others' disappointment - what you state wasn't the case for years. As @phanzer stated, it has just now (within the month) stopped being possible to rely on series passes.

@XfinityAirelle im very confused why this just started happening. This has not been the case for the past 1-2 years since I’ve started watching Formula 1 and all the races, practice, and qualifying are live events. Why the sudden change?

@XfinityAirelle My DVR has cancelled all the previously programmed F 1 Practice & races. I have to go in and select record for each one. As of 7-22-22 this is unresolved!

Oh no! It's important to us that you're able to record your favorites. Can you walk me through the steps you're taking and what error code or message are you receiving during which events?

Sorry, but no. Many sports series have series scheduling and it has generally worked as long as I have had X1. As noted, when I went to create the manual recording for the first IndyCar race, it actually asked if I wanted to record that soccer series.

I am having the same issue. My series recordings for formula 1 and indy car no longer record. I have to find and set each manually.

@Tlinc same here. I went to make sure it was scheduled for this weekend and then didn’t find it. Luckily I’ve stumbled upon this thread and have now gained some insight

Welcome to our community forum, @Tlinc! You've reached the perfect place to get help with your Xfinity services. Are these the only series that won't record or is this happening on all series recordings?

@XfinityEmilyB I’m not sure about the the other user but for me it’s just been Formula 1 and up until this weekend it was set to record as a series and has been for atleast over a year.  I just noticed yesterday in my scheduled recordings area that it was not scheduled and I had record each practice, qualifying, and actual in separate. Very frustrating

It was working fine as a series recording for F1 until this weekend. Is there a fix for this, or are we going to have to set it up individually each weekend?

Having the same issue as Tlinc.  Worked fine until now.  Not only have all the series recordings for all F1 practices, quali, sprint quali & the races ceased & F1 has disappeared from Series Priority, but I do not seem able to create another series recording off from any of the events for France or Hungary.

It looks like the metadata for each instance of an F1 event is no longer marking it as part of a series, so the issue appears to be not with the X1 system but with whoever is compiling the Guide.

Needs to be fixed.

Seeing the same as all the others here.  Formula 1 events (Practice, Qualifying, Sprint Races, Grand Prix) have always scheduled as a series.  Sometime between July 10th and yesterday that changed.  Now all events must be manually set to record individually.

Very disappointed by this.

Did notice a minor fix. The IndyCar race no longer shows soccer when you go to More Info.

This is a good thing! Have you attempted to record and get the correct programming yet since this update?

Hello! I am getting the same issue everyone else has. I’m only trying to record the Formula 1 series each weekend they have their race but it no longer will automatically record each practice session, qualifying, and the actual race. I had to go in and manually record each session— very frustrating. This is the first weekend this has happened, because the last two races back on July 1-3 and July 8-10 recorded automatically and I had no issues. I’ve had the Formula 1 series to automatically record every “episode” for over a year and never had issues.

Just an additional bit of info - I did not have a pass for "NASCAR Cup Series" like I did with the others, but I tried to set it up just to see if it still worked like Indy and F1 used to - and it does!

Im here to echo the same Formula 1 frustrations others have mentioned. It was recording automatically as a series until this weekend, everything except the race itself has to be manually added to record. This is new and very frustrating.

@user_0ced98 the actual Grand Prix wasn’t even scheduled for me. I had to add individually every practice, qualifying and the Grand Prix. Very frustrating

I am sorry you are having these recording issues. We appreciate you reaching out to Xfinity Forums. The program you are referring to, is it a live event? Do you have issues with any other program?

Having this same problem. If you search Formula 1, no series comes up so it appears the series has been deleted. Also maddening that this Sunday’s race didn’t come up under searches for Formula 1, F1, or French Grand Prix because the title is “France Grand Prix”.

So incredibly disappointed in you Xfinity. Please investigate and fix this.

@user_d66306 only way I found it was searching or saying “Formula 1 Racing” so dumb

Same as everyone else on Formula 1. I've been recording the last 4 years with no issues, its always picked up practices, qualifying, and races since I set it up over 4 years ago! As previously stated this weekends race is the first time I've had to individually search for and record each event.  All other recordings are working just fine. And I have always been able to voice search by saying "Formula 1" and that shows only the race itself not practices or qualifying as before.  Grand Prix Sunday still has recordings set into the future. This is incredibly frustrating! What happened?

@Dbl59 my Grand Prix for this weekend France and next weekend for Hungary weren’t even being scheduled to record. I had to manually put those in too. Frustrating

After spending multiple hours on the phone with Xfinity and elevating the service level 3 times, there is a DVR outage that is not impacting all customers and all shows. The outage has been ongoing since July 15th. They do not have a potential resolution date. If you are experiencing the issue, you should contact them so that you can get your bill adjusted to reflect their service interruption.

Whoever is the Xfinity “employee”, is this even a real person? Your answers are vague and sound suspiciously like a chat bot. We pay for a premium service and can’t even get what we payed for.

Just noticed that the July 30 IndyCar race was automatically picked up for recording.

After forcing the box to sync, it also picked up the Hungary F1 races. This weekends races may also have been picked up if I hadn't manually added them
