Formula One Races won’t record to my DVR

I have my DVR set to record ALL Formula 1 airings (Practice 1, Practice 2, Practice 3, Qualifying, & the Race), but for some reason my DVR will record all of those Except the actual race itself. Is there a way to fix this or does Xfinity have a deal with SkySports/F1/FIA to not let its customers record the race?

We are having the same issue. What we observed is that, if we set the practices, races, and quali sessions to record as the entire series, one cancels out the others. If we set to record practice 1 this event only, practice 2, this event only, practice 3, this event only, quali, this event only and race, this event only, they all record successfully. You need to do this for each race.

The other option is to record the practice sessions and quali as all the events in the series, then record each race individually (just this game).

Thank you for reaching out and for your question about your DVR service not recording the Race. I would be reaching out if I was having this issue too! We opened a ticket for this issue and looks like it has been resolved. Please let us know if you are still having any recording issues. We are happy to help.

Hello, @user_567ca2, we need to get your X1 DVR service working so you can enjoy the race at your convenience! There was a known issue that is being reported as resolved. Are you able to reset your DVR and let us know if you are now able to record Formula One Races?

I just have been trying to record formula 1 racing and cannot record the races.  I am trying to record the race that is being shown at 11:00pm tonight on ESPN2.  I can go through all of the steps to set it up but it does not seem to allow it.

I just had the same issue.  The practice sessions and qualifying record, but not the race.  It is incredibly frustrating to wake up and not find the recording.  This needs to be fixed.

I just had the same issue where the practice and qualifying sessions were recorded, and the game isn’t recorded.  I’m not able to record it while it is on, when I select all episodes.  It is extremely frustrating to find that your recordings are working.  This needs to be fixed asap.

Hello, @user_92a7f6

Thank You for taking the time to post on this thread, here on the Community Forum. It looks like a previous visitor posted a work around above in the thread. It looks like they had success using the “this event only” for each event.

I would love to work on this with you. In order to get the specifics, could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address?

To send a "Direct Message" message:

  • Click "Sign In" if necessary
  • Click the "Direct Messaging" icon at the top of the page (looks like a text bubble)
  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  • Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  • Press Enter to send it

My DVR has cancelled all the previously programmed F 1 Practice & races. I have to go in and select record for each one. As of 7-22-22 this is unresolved!

Just to be sure, you are not able to set a recording so its records all programming at once? How long have you had this issue?

I’m having the same issue. It recorded two weeks ago, but now the series recordings are not working. I tried to delete the series recording and reset it, but it is not showing still. I have to record each race individually, @Xfinity Support.

Can you help me out?

I am having the same issue, woke up today to early morning sessions (P1 & P2) not recorded. Looked into my scheduled recordings and NONE were scheduled to record.

It is extremely frustrating to have to go in every 1-2 weeks and manually setup recordings for each session, especially when it worked as a series before. These events occur at all times of day due to races being held in different time zones around the world, babysitting a DVR nullifies the point of paying for DVR service.

I agree. The whole point of recording the series is so you don’t have to record each race individually.

You may need to record each practice and the race as separate series since they may not be listed as the same series though the network. Have you tired to do this?

I'm happy (well, actually not so happy) to see that I am not the only one having this issue. I hope we get a resolution soon. It has been working for me pretty flawlessly for the past two years or so. Something obviously changed recently.

There is another thread going on here about this issue.

https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/x1/forumula-1-and-indycar-ignoring-series-scheduling/62d6b44e26e4b32f2deca9b2

I will post my reply from there over here in hopes it keeps this where someone will see and do something about it!

Same as everyone else on Formula 1. I've been recording the last 4 years with no issues, its always picked up practices, qualifying, and races since I set it up over 4 years ago! As previously stated this weekends race is the first time I've had to individually search for and record each event.  All other recordings are working just fine. And I have always been able to voice search by saying "Formula 1" and that shows only the race itself not practices or qualifying as before.  Grand Prix Sunday still has recordings set into the future. This is incredibly frustrating! What happened?
