Flashing black screen

I continually have a flashing black screen. A technician came and ran a new line to the house and it was fixed for 2 days and today it started flashing black again. Any ideas on what the problem is?

I have had a similar problem Ever since they installed a new box. No tv at all for 3 days now. I'm 73 and that's about the only thing I can do is watch tv. They are sending repair man out on Thursday with a new box. Now no volume in my bedroom tv. They did the check that I already did twice today. So stupid.

during the 'flashing black' screen issue, is audio interrupted? does it go and stay black? this is usually an issue with an HDMI cable bad or no longer seated properly at the set top box or at the TV end of the same HDMI cable.

@Rustyben-the audio goes out when the black screen Flashes. We have changed out the hdmi cord from the cable box-do you know why it would be fine for 2 days when the cable line was switched from the outside box To the house But the started again 2days later? We had a similar occurrence when we switched the hdmi cable from the cable box.

how is the set top box connected to your TV?  do other set top boxes in the home have the same problem or are they ok while that one is having problems?

pick one working box and swap the set of set top box, hdmi cable, power supply from one TV to the other and see if problem moves.

No idea what the problem is but second time it's happened with my TV. I tried a restart and that did not work but the system refresh seemed to do the job. (knock on wood!)
