Every Sunday Cable is stuck on Welcome Screen

Every Sunday, like clockwork, I turn on the tv and it is stuck on the welcome screen. I have to unplug the cable, HDMI and power cords, wait for a while, plug them back in and then wait even longer for the cable to start working again. Every single Sunday this happens. I can never speak to an actual person, just the Xfinity bot who just tells me to restart my cable box. For the amount of money I pay monthly for Xfinity cable, this is ridiculous.

user_l92mm7 Thank you for letting us know. This sounds like a system update is taking place but you shouldn't have to keep troubleshooting such as what you do. I would be reaching out too. Our team is here for you. Please feel free to send us a DM with your full name and complete address.

How to Send Us a Direct Message:

  1. Click "Sign In" if necessary.
  2. Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or visit Xfinity Direct Messaging.
  3. Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon.
  4. In the "To:" line, type "Xfinity Support".
  5. As you type, a drop-down list will appear. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
  6. An "Xfinity Support" graphic will replace the "To:" line.
  7. Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window.
  8. Press Enter to send it.
