DVR won't record more than 2 shows at a time

My X1 box stopped working so I was sent replacement. Now I can only record 2 shows at a time. Previously I could record 6. I pay for DVR service and I didn't change my plan. Why can I not record more shows at once and how do I get it fixed?

My team and I can help get this looked into and see why you're only able to record two shows at a time, @user_a163ed. Could you please use the chat icon in the upper right to enter Direct Messaging. From there, go ahead and compose a new message to "Xfinity Support" and we can get started.

To send a Direct Message [private message]:

  • Click "Sign In" if necessary
  • Click the "Direct Message" icon

or  https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging

  • Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
  • The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.
  • - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.
  • - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.
  • Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
  • Press Enter to send it

@user_a163ed

Did they fix this problem for you?  I'm so over chatting online or phone with Xfinity help that I'm hoping to find answers amongst users.  I'm having a similar issue where I try to record something and get a "recording conflict" popup.  I have plenty of recording space, but it's forcing me to delete a show in order to record another.  New problem I've never had and I refuse to purchase more space.

Thanks.

I am having this same issue. Shows I've been recording all season suddenly are giving me recording conflicts. It's like I can only record two shows at a time now when I've been recording at least 4 at a time with no issues. I haven't made any changes but just started getting these conflicts.

Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us regarding your recording concerns. If you have a cloud dvr services then you have the ability to record up to 2 programs at one time. This may be what is causing the issue for the error you are running into. If you have 20 hours of DVR storage, you can record up to two programs at one time. Do you know if you are subscribed to a different dvr service package?

I no longer work for Comcast.
