DVR says 58% Full|104 Recordings - Wrong!

I have 61 recordings showing in Recordings and 76 hours total. Why is it telling me 58% Full|104 Recordings? I think it is supposed to have 150 hrs if HD capacity. I spent an hour with a tier one support call who gave up and said it would be ok later and I would get a follow up call. She would not give me Tier two or higher support person. I pay near $150 month and not happy. Stream app used to show recordings not showing in DVR screen but accurate lately.

the amount of storage per recording depends on the encoded format (mpeg2 or mpeg4). SD and local broadcast channels are native Mpeg2. the cable channels are mpeg4 and take up the least room.  for the streaming devices it is a bit different in that the stream DVR is 60 to 150 hours (in process of converting to 150).

The answer held no solution. I only record cable channel shows...no SD, Local channels or streaming. This is supposed to be taking the least HD space, but claims 136 recordings with counting only about half that. I think there is oscified areas of my DVR HD that need chkdsk or defragging. I think the box is defective.

swap it out. local Xfinity store wants just the box and the power supply and cord. keep the remote and HDMI cable.
